Hey y'all,
I just retimed all Top Score runs with millisecond precision to resolve all the ties and clean up unclean retimings since the run is so short that it really deserves it. A few positions have shifted because of that.
Yo chefs !
Since it's a very long run and a few people asked about it, we're allowing one break up to two hours where you can grab some food, bathroom brakes, or whatever. Please state in your submission when the break starts and when it ends. During the break you can not do anything but sit at the pause screen or the main menu. If you enter a stage or unpause during the break, the break will be considered to be over.
Let's cook up some magic !
Hi Tootie,
yes it must be one single recording without splices. You can take breaks ofc but the recording must go on either way and breaktimes are therefore added to the final time.
Let's see if i can learn this run without losing my mind lol.
Buh !
I use hacktice to generate a modded version of the rom which is similar to usamune rom: https://github.com/aglab2/hacktice
I agree that this would be the best and most fair solution across all platforms and devices, but it will take a very long amount of time to retime everything by hand (since loading times can vary per level) which i currently do not have.
Will also happen, but first I'm gonna get that Hangry Horde runs repaired :D
What's cooking ?
I added the remaining DLCs for everybody to submit to. If any of the rulings is wrong, please let me know cuz it's quite a mess to keep them clean.
Unfortunately, the introduction of a new required subcategory lead to every "All Horde Levels" runs of "Night of the Hangry Horde" to vanish from the boards even though that should be prevented by applying the new subcategory to all those runs. Don't panic, they're still there, just invisible. I reached out to the super mods to bring them back, it can take a few days though. Making an update announcements when it's done !
Ofc you can cut these times short by trying to beat it with the Modded version instead, currently it has no option to automatically end at the 4 star score though so you'd have to trigger that manually every time.
Even though it would not save that much time after all, since 4 star scores tend to be very high and try to push the limits for what's possible within the given time limit.
The question is, does "true 100%" include actually getting the stars added to your star count? Because Overcooked 2 never grants you the 4th star retrospectively after you beat the game and unlock new game+ even if you got the required score already, you would need to play everything at least twice.
Playing through every level in the game including DLCs I'd estimate at least
- 3:20h for the base game
- 1:40h for each of the 4 major DLCs (Hangry Horde / Surf'n'Turf / Carnival of Chaos / Campfire Cook-Off
- 0:40h for each of the 6 minor DLCs (Christmas Cracker, Winter Wonderland, etc.)
So it's probably around 13-14 hours for everything if you dropped the requirement to "physically" achieve the 4th star, or 26-28 hours if you have to play everything twice.
Just a raw estimation though.
I created this category already for the AYCE Version, because I setup everything from scratch anyways. I never added it here because there was no demand yet. I'm still in the process of adding the DLCs as separate runs though.
Hey there, I'm planning to add DLC categories either this or next weekend. Making an announcement post when it's done.
Dear SpeedChefs,
since there is now a bit more of competition for certain categories including DLCs, I realized the retiming was done a bit too sloppy in the past using slightly different points to start/stop the timer, which i wanna change so it's a fair environment for everyone.
For 1P runs:
- Timer starts when you pick a new or existing savefile to overwrite
- Full Game runs: Timer stops when you hand in the last dish to the Ever Peckish (OC1) or to the counter in 6-6 (OC2)
- DLC runs: Timer stops at the frame when the transition screen to the scoreboard of the last level happens. If its AllStars%, ofc only if you got all the stars.
For 2P/3P/4P runs:
- Timer starts when the last player of the group has picked his savefile. This can be seen when the bottom right hopping burger/pizza icon appears on screen, leading to the overworld/opening cutscene to be loaded.
So if you got some notifications that your runs have been verified again, it's because of this.
This will need a bit time, so I'll try to do what I can over the upcoming Easter days, but please be patient. <3
Hi there,
thanks for pointing that out. I actually changed the text value, but was unaware that since the new update you also have to save the whole thing again. It should now show the correct rules for Modded runs:
Archipelago features must be turned off. All mods have to be turned off with the only exception being the AutoComplete feature which..
- must be permanently set to 3 Stars for "AllStars%"
- can be altered freely during "Any%"
Usage of the "Del"-Button to manually end levels early is also allowed.
A new category has been created: New Game+ or short NG+
it's like any%, but any available weapons are allowed. Use the password SYMRGOBRRL to unlock all special weapons.
to record gameplay i'd recommend OBS as well. Generally works pretty good and is reusable for all kinds of games you want to do local recordings of.
Okay, since I agree with adedulator on the unnecessary rule restrain on 3 Star scores on any%, I'm updating the ruleset for Modded Any% so you can change the AutoComplete condition freely during the run to adjust the amount of stars needed per level.
thanks toaster. It's a great work already. I'm baffled how easy the installation of the mod is with the code injection stuff. Will try out the randomizer soon and see if i can bring this onto the boards as well.
For some reason I can not pin this thread to the top of the Forum posts. Strange..
