Hey guys, I've had a blast with these forums lately.

So I have a few question for you guys to answer about videos games.

Favorite Game Least Favorite Game (You need to have experience with this game...) Favorite piece of music from a game Favorite Video Game Level Favorite video game mascot (basically favorite main character) A game that you like but no one else does A game that you don't like but everyone else does. What game do you think is underrated What game do you think is overrated What Game did you most recently play for the first time

Note: You may not repeat a game. For example you're favorite level or music may not be from your 'favorite game'.

My answers Favorite Game: Crash Tag Team Racing Least Favorite Game: Mario Kart 8 Favorite piece of music From a Game: Allies and Gullies -Buzz Lightyear To The Rescue Favorite Video Game Level: Urban Ed - Ed Edd n Eddy The Mis Ed-ventures Favorite Video Game Mascot: Spyro The Dragon A game that I like but no one else does: Sonic 06 A game that I don't like but everyone else does: Super Mario 64 A game I think is underrated: Shadow The Hedgehog A game I think is overrated: Crash Bandicoot A Game I recently played: Injustice (And I absolutely loved it!!!!!)

I'm Lance, I hope you meet cool people too, I'm not cool.

Just have fun with speedrunning. Unless you're going for WR then you gotta be serious about that stuff. Gotta put in time and effort. Lots of grinding will be needed learning setups, tricks, glitches etc. besides that Speedrunning is super awesome and your friends will be jealous when they see that you're better at video games than them.

Ooooooh, a movie gamer ay? That's awesome. I look forward to seeing your first run and I hope you meet some awesome people in this community as well (there's a lot of awesome people in this community, so that shouldn't be hard)

Welcome and enjoy your stay!

Any co-op game is punishing because both players need to get everything right, because if they don't it messes the other player up (usually)

Welcome to the speedruns!

Hey Steve, I"m Lance, nice to meet yuh.

The amount of time you put into a speedrun will determine you skill level. Less Time= Lower skill More time=More skill and of course you can meant in in between which is where lots of people start. What you outta do is first learn the route and practice the tricks some and then right off the bat do a run. Make it a no reset so you at least have a time to compete against when you do get better (Note: Your first run will not be perfect, so don't beat yourself up if your time is bad).

Now you don't have put in over 9000 hours to be good. It all depends on how long your game is, which I see is bout 40 minutes so it's not a lot of time to put in. When practicing- focus on one part or trick. Don't try to practice an entire level until you've completely learned each section, THEN practice the entire level. Now I'm just saying, you don't have you listen to anything I'm saying, you can do whatever makes you feel comfortable.

Good luck when you do your first run.

Getting a game to be speed run friendly is very hard to do. Just make the game. It's a speedrunner's job to make it speed run friendly. Not the developer's. Do you think the developers knew the BLJ in SM64 was there? Naaaaaah. Just have fun making the game dude, it doesn't matter how it turns out, after all you find speedruns of slow paced games on here. It doesn't have to be fast.

What Monster said. It doesn't even have to be /your/ run either.

Hi there Roo?... Flesz? I don't know how you would prefer to be addressed. RPGs are very interesting to speedrun. They're definitely the most technically speedruns out there and have the highest reset potential because of the need for RNG everywhere. So you do plan on speedrunning FF or a different RPG?

When it comes to game quality which console do you think has better games to run or just play casually? I want to extend my reach to other systems.

Also you have to have a run of it. They don't want more empty leaderboards. So with a better chance of it getting accepted, submit it with a run attached- even if it isn't your run.

Just a simple question... is this an RTA or in game timer you go by?

Not that it's fawned of but I believe some leaderboard don't even require videos which I always find irritating when 1st place doesn't have a video. It all depends on the game, but I would highly recommend having a recording of your run whether it's required or not.

Hey there, I'm Lance. Great to meet you!

Super Mario Maker has always been a fun run to watch because every run you're not seeing the same strats which is always good.

My advice would be not to get frustrated with the RNG that that game throws at you. Expect the worst level ever and then figure out what you'll do from there. Also don't raise your expectation out roof. You're first run is not going to be the most perfect run and you of all people need to know that. Make your first run a no reset run.

Anyways, welcome to the community and if you have any question I'm here and there are tons of other people you could ask too!

Nice to meet you. I'm Lance.

That's awesome that your choice is a not so popular game. Depending on how unpopular it is that's give you the opportunity to come up with your own routes, trick, and maybe even find some interesting glitch to get a good. time.

You're doing what I feel everyone should be doing... you're running a game that you really love.

When it comes to tips the best thing you can do as a new runner is to not give yourself high expectations for your first run. So basically don't expect your first run to be perfect. in fact make your first run a no reset run. That what I always do. Second... DON'T GET FRUSTRATED! Frustration lead to demotivation and demotivation leads to consistent bad runs. If something doesn't go the way you planned and you end up reseting- tell yourself what you did wrong and fix that one thing. If every run you make something better, even if you mess up something else, you've already gotten better at that part. And Third... after you make your routes I beg of you please, please come up with some back up strats. I've never play Rush N' Attack, so I don't know if you can have any back up strats but if you can make some. Back up strats will decrease the amount of reset by a huge amount.

Anyways, welcome to the community! I look forward to seeing your first run!

Ok so first of all I know that EasyCap isn't the best Capture Card out there but I got it as a gift so I want to be able to use it. So using the program by itself works fine I can record and it comes out fine, but if I try to capture the window with OBS it doesn't show up on the stream... the weird thing is that OBS can see it but if you look at the stream it has just a dark purple screen. I've tried to mess with all the different setting for it as well as tried different programs, but nothing works.

If anyone could help me that'd be great if not I'll probably just get one of the "better" CCs
