I know I have heard from other runners they have had crashes in the same place, but not usually at that frequency. I as well have Texture Filtering checked and have never had the crash there, so that might be related perhaps? The best place to ask would probably be in the Dino Discord, and (hopefully) once we fix the issue we can update the thread with the fix.
@RapixOnGaming putting it that way I do see your point. Personally IDGAF if it does or doesn't so if there is enough want for it I am fine with it. However, who knows how long it may be actively run. If people want quick runs there is always Dino Colosseum :)
@RapixOnGaming people have actually been talking about this since I started running DC2. Unsure how many people would actually run it but could be a fun little run and I am pretty sure it would just get shoved under IL and not a main category on the board. Also after doing a race with easy any% my opinion has changed and I wouldn't mind it being a category.
@RapixOnGaming I just did a quick test of running to the Water Tower on PS3 with both physical and digital version. Both got an identical time of 1:48 which compared to PSP tests we did when testing the emulators was 1:31 (If & While) and Xtra did a test today and got 1:35. Compared to everything we allow (excluding PS1 as no one has tested it) PS3 is by far the slowest getting to the first save. I am under the assumption that is going to carry through the whole run.
The reason Farmery could get competitive times in DC1 is that IGT pauses during door transitions. So even if one loaded it instantly and the other took an hour, IGT should remain identical. Assuming all other versions act the same as the PC version, IGT is always running excluding pause, and options.
My only argument for PS3 being under PSN is it is still just emulating the game (to my knowledge.) Under that assumption it should be identical to the PSN version should it not? I might be crazy in my thought process though. I don't really care where it goes, but it should have a category.
If you look at the rules PSN does state Digital copy only, but I don't see why the disc wouldn't be accepted for it.
If possible could the solution be added to the thread just incase future people are interested? I didn't even see how it was achieved.
As someone who is currently (slowly) learning the game I would give it a +1 as well.
@picklewater I had the same issue, and the only way I got it fixed was for someone to send me their config file and then it worked fine afterwards ¯_(ツ)_/¯
As someone who uses Duckstation for Dino Crisis 2 I will say it is an amazing emulator that is easy to use and setup so it has my support.
From my very limited casual experiences with the game I haven't had that issue, and I did a quick search and also didn't find anything. Some games I have had to disable MTVU under speedhacks to get cutscenes to work, so could possibly see if that is enabled and disable it to see if it fixes it. What renderer are you using? Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be able to give you hand.
@If_And_While I apologize, I don't know what's going on so I will just pretend nothing ever happened :)
