Umm @Fiftylaren The board was approved and created TODAY.
I dunno how they got away with not having contact info. I dunno how it wasn't added as part of the series. These issues might be worth looking at. But this isn't a case of an inactive user. It hasn't been weeks, or months. It's been four days since they requested the board, and they've been a mod less than one day.
Give this person time to get things going. Usually new boards are given a period of two weeks to get set up.
If you wanted to moderate the game you should have submitted it I guess.
Rules have been added. They can still a bit flexible if you want to discuss!
There's a good chance this ^ will link you to a quiet leaderboard.
Also... In the past I know of one case where the board was added twice with a slight game name/url variation. Are there any steps taken by staff specifically to avoid this?
Yeah I think I agree, maybe we could change "Additional notes" to something explicit, like "Explain why it should have a leaderboard on the site."
Stop reading if you're sensitive to cynicism and bait. I cannot resist making this negative joke. I'm not targeting anyone in particular.
We could even add more instructions to be even clearer! Something like this: "Staff have never heard of your submitted game, in all likelihood. That might be difficult for you to understand since you've probably been consumed by the game for the last little while, or maybe because you're 13 and you think this trash Flash is the funniest coolest thing ever. Perhaps you've never had to complete any kind of application form before now. There's a possibility that you're sadly just too dumb to include helpful additional information with your submission. Or maybe you can't use words to convey ideas all that well in English. If any of these apply, leave this field blank and staff will know not to give you the authority to run a leaderboard. Tldr: leave this field blank for administrative purposes"
The notes field are essentially asking "why should we add this?" If you answer nothing, then that's like saying there's no reason they should add it. Glad you added reasons Tenka >_>
I guess for now, do what the wr video does in terms of start and end time.
Do you guys have an opinion on what the rules should be? Also, are you planning on submitting runs? :)
Like, add the categories again. Do your best to repopulate the board with a cached version of the site. Ask runners in the community to resubmit. I dunno how else to put it. In the meantime contact an admin.
I would also recommend joining the 2048 community's Discord, since it appears you haven't done so.
^Or "Edit Run" if it's a mistake you can correct.
@Anthony_live Yeah no that video explains nothing and you're gonna need to give some context IMO
Remember, if you run LS as administrator, you also need to run OBS as administrator if you want to capture it.
@UprightThumbs Just so you know, staff was made aware on the Discord and they're working on it. Might take a little bit, but you're not being ignored :)
So it sounds like you have two different problems here.
First, you can't get the game captured as a "game capture" in OBS. However, you said it worked with Window Capture. So that should work fine, no problem.
Second, you can't get livesplit to start without losing window focus. This could be an unrelated problem. Right-click on LiveSplit and go to settings. There should be an option to enable global hotkeys. Make sure this is checked. This will allow you to use LiveSplit's functions while your window focus is on the game.
Hope that helps!
