On speedrun.com, I get the worst ads out of any site.

Some users (mostly @1) have already called out elo for this kind of ads so they either dont have control about the ads being shown on their website (which they should) or they havent done anything. They should remember that this page is full of teenagers, many between the ages of 13 and 16.

They don't allow NSFW games but NSFW ads are perfectly fine

One of those ads popped up on my school website and I was scared as fuck

I hate to jump on the bandwagon but this is definitely inappropriate and uncalled for, especially on a site filled with teenagers and kids (yes there are plenty of users who use the site who are under 13, even if nobody admits it). Elo needs to seriously audit their own advertising practices and quick. Ads on the site are excusable, they gotta make money somehow. This however  is far beyond what should be acceptable. I would give Elo the benefit of the doubt (it’s a large corporation at the end of the day) if this hadn’t happened before. 

I think Elo really needs some volunteers in their mix, preferably active speedrunners who have the community’s best interests in mind. This would ensure that issues like this get the necessary attention and don’t get swept under the rug. Don’t get me wrong, the two speedrunners who are on the payroll are awesome but they can only do so much. I think that’s the only permanent solution for issues like this.

Anyways, that’s my spiel.
