As Im new to speedrunning and just did my first attempt, I just used the standard microsoft video program to cut the length of the video. But I couldnt find a nice and free way to cut the edges of the video. Any recommended software? (obviously please no paid software or those with watermarks)

For trimming video, I’ve had no issue with the basic windows editor. Could you be more specific about what you’re looking for?

As I said trimming the video to the wanted length is not the problem. I couldnt find a good way/software to crop the image.

Really good free editing software that is out there is davinci resolve, kdenlive and avidemux. Avidemux is the lightest of them all, followed by kdenlive and last davinci resolve. I would recommend simply looking up your needs. Cropping can be done by all of those programs.
