Hey Bat, welcome to the leaderboard!
For your first question, here are examples of what your runs would qualify for: You run Basic Math, then restart your timer and run anything else -- these count for separate endurance categories. You run Basic Math, keep the timer running, and run Multiplication -- this only counts for Math All Subjects. You run Basic Math, keep the timer running, and run Geography -- this only counts for All Subjects.
For your second question, yes, you should keep the timer running :D (Speedrun the bathroom!)
It would be good to start off by submitting a short video (like 100 grains) so we can make sure you got the rules down. Wouldn't want you to do a 10000+ grain run only to get it rejected!
Let me know if this clears things up!
Thank you for answering the questions! Although I’m a bit confused about the first answer.
I want to know if I could do another Edurance run for a different category once I submit a Basic Math Endurance run.
I might do a 100 grain run of SAT or Basic Math or something like that first. :)
Is it this line in the rules that confused you? "Although it may qualify for multiple records, an endurance run can only be submitted once. This will help us maintain an accurate rice count."
You can do as many endurance runs as you want, as long as you have separate videos for each! This above is just saying you should not submit the same video of a Basic Math run for
- Basic Math Endurance
- Math All Subjects Endurance
- and an All Subjects Endurance run, even though it qualifies for all three.
Does that make more sense? Let me know how I could change the rules to clear it up
@Oxknifer Yes! That clears up the confusion. Thanks for the help! :D
@The_Munch Thanks for the good luck and I look forward to posting runs :)
Some more question from someone different,
-
"Freerice.com must be maximized in the foreground of your screen" The setup i am currently using show about 3/5 of the website so its not "maximized", is my setup still good
-
Can you take a 5 min break in the first hour (unlikely it will happen but we never know)
-
"A reset to zero or other nontrackable changes will end your run." I'm pretty sure that the rice count reset at 0:00 everyday so technically, you cannot do a 24 hour endurance. I might be wrong but sometime i comeback like 2-3 hour later and i still have the rice i had when i left.
-
Do i need to use a mic (i might use it but i dont have much to say)
Thats pretty much it for now.
Hey Cuttyflame! Thanks for asking :D
- It takes up the entire screen, so you're fine. Just be sure to not open other windows, or your run will end right there!
- Yes. Just make sure to keep the timer running :)
- Interesting thought. Until its proven that it resets at the end of the day, we'll keep the rule.
- No need. You could throw in some background music to spice up the run, otherwise, it isn't necessary.
- prove out to be false, i read the faq and it say this : When you log out, your cookie session is deleted - this means that your internet browser no longer remembers how many grains you earned during that session
I never logged off but noticed the site log me off on his own after some time not visiting it so that must be why it reset
just one question for the leader-board, my endurance run is calculated with the amount of rice and munch one is calculated with he time he did, which one is the right one
I may be running total endurance soon but I'm just wondering something.
Will the amount of rice raised in new endurance run be stacked towards total or will only grains passing 23,000 be counted?
I look forward to running it again and I'm setting aside 3 hours to do it either Tommorow or Thursday.
@The_Munch Yes, totally fine -- your grains will still count! Once I verify it, one of your runs will become obsolete. In this case, since we currently have runs recorded by grain amount on a descending scale, the run with the least amount of grains will show up on the leaderboard.
if you're looking for a way to sort out the scoreboard here an example of a high score scoreboard on here https://www.speedrun.com/Google_Doodle_ICC_Champions_Trophy_2017_Begins#Score
Ugh thas' sad :( Also I havent found a good block of time to verify it, but knowing you I should just accept it haha.
there is an option on the leaderboard timer to set individual categories to high score, it should be in the edit menu
It's a sub-category, so it doesn't allow a different timer option than other sub-categories it sits with. Speedrun.com is working on that fix next month :)
