This guide shows **one version** of the route, simplified to the absolute basics, and there is ample room for variation/improvement. This route works for all versions (Wii/Switch/PC).

Possible route variations:

- The shmup can be done at any time.
- Jeane's mini-game can be shifted a bit later, but not too late as you might accidentally lock yourself out of finishing it before the end of the run.
- Kimmy/Revenge Missions can be done at any point after getting all of the gym upgrades, but Kimmy must be fought before beating Alice as she cannot be accessed after Alice is dead.
- The Getting Trashed money grind can be done in different ways and at different points, depending on preference.
- This route breaks up the money grind into chunks throughout the run and between Revenge Missions, but as stated before, this is only one version of the route, and **it is not mandatory to handle the money grind this way.**  Get the money in any way that suits your playstyle while still being fast.
- Naomi's katanas can be bought right before Cloe, but could be bought later depending on you katana preference, i.e. if you want to use the MK-III to the end instead of the Blood Berry. The Blood Berry is potentially faster, but the MK-III can be more reliable/easier depending on skill/practice.
- 100% requires the Muscle shirt, which only appears in the shop in a NG+. As a result, you must start a NG+ file and fight Skelter to access the shop and buy the shirt.

Alice Deathmatch Guide

**Slash attack**: The attack that is done by shaking the Wii remote
**3L**: Using 3 hits during a low combo, then procceding to do a roll to cancel the combo and not stagger (specially useful during low estasy gauge)
**4L**: Using 4 hits during a low combo
**5L**: Using 5 hits during a low combo with a high estasy gauge
**Estasy Gauge**: The tiger that appears on the lower right part of the screen, when it turns red (even without a white aura), it lets you do a fifth hit during combos and also roll after doing a full combo
**Darkstep**: Pressing left/right after an enemy attack connects to slow down enemies, and after it, procceding to attack
**Parry**: Pressing the guard button on the correct time in order to block an otherwise unavoidable attack (unless rolling/out of range) and after it, procceding to attack
**Spider Form**: This is Alice's starting position. Spider form is a main issue in Deathmatches because it boosts Alice's defenses, making the fight some seconds longer. 

[section=Weapon Analysis on Battle]

**Blood Berry**: It's low range makes connecting hits really hard, so it can't make good use of it's high Damage pr second on this battle
**Camelia MK-III**: The best option for this fight, it can connect multiplie hits without trouble, which is the most important thing on this battle, also has enough battery to make reloads not an issue in the course of the battle.
**Peony**: Its slow hitrate doesn't go well on this battle
**Rose Nasty**: Similar to the Camelia but with less damage in exchange to more battery, since there's enough room to load up your battery during the fight, it is not recommended to take this weapon over MK-III

[section=Movements]

> **Multibounce**: While technically not an attack, it's a particular move that Alice can do anytime, but she will almost do it when she's low on health (aka 1-3 squares of health left), Alice will start bouncing and, after 5-6 bounces, she will enter on spider form. It is important to know that if she's hit while bouncing, this movement will always be cancelled, making her not enter in spider form.

> **Spider Drop**: Alice's move when on spider form when Travis is near her, she will channel during 1-2 seconds and fall from her starting position.
Darkstep: No
Parry? Not tested

> **Spider Throw**: Alice's move when on spider form when Travis is away from her, she will channel during 1-2 seconds and throw her beam katanas to Travis
Darkstep: No
Parry? Not tested

> **Multislash**: Alice will stand still for a fraction of a second, then proceeds to do 2 normal slashes, channel for 1 second, then proceed to do a charged third slash (this last one can't be blocked). If she gets attacked before doing the first slash, this movement will be canceled
Darkstep: Yes (only 2 first slashes)
Parry? Not tested

> **Charged slash**: Alice will channel for 1 second, then proceed to do a charged slash in front of her
Darkstep: No
Parry? Not tested

[section=Battle Strategy]

**FIRST THIRD**

Alice battle will always start with her being on spider form, so the best start is using a Slash attack followed by 1-3 Low hits (depends on how much time she uses to do the Spider Drop, changes each battle) and do a roll to evade her Spider Drop, after this, you'll want to do another Slash attack followed by a 4L. 

While doing a 4L means that Travis is unable to do anything for one second, it will help on the next movement, making Alice just channel for her next attack and will let us do the same combo a second time.

From this moment, Alice will use almost all the time only 2 movements, the multislash and the charged slash, for the multislash, you just have to hit her after she rolls but before she ends channeling the movement (it takes some practise to know the exact moment), for the charged slash, if she starts channeling, the only way to cancel it is to stun her, but it's also important to know that this attack's hitbox only affect in front of Alice, so if you're behind her, it won't damage you.

Another important thing to know is that it's important to be on a corner or a dead-end of the map, since that will make that Alice evades less and will help at connecting more hits.

**SECOND THIRD**

After the first QTE, use the time that Alice needs to recover to load a bit of the battery, and after it, follow the same strategy than for the first Third.

**LAST THIRD**

When Alice is low on health, she will always start rolling away from you, but if you're on a dead-end of the stage, she will have a hard time running away from you, which will make possible hitting her and avoid that she enters on spider form.

Deathmatch - How to perform the ∞ Battery Glitch (Switch Only)

Step 1: Enter any Travis Deathmatch battle (except Charlie McDonald), I recommend Letz Shake, but it can be anyone, because of the following steps.

Step 2: Run out of battery, just do running slashes until you don't have any battery left

Step 3: Let yourself get killed

Step 4: When the game asks you to retry again, go to the Deathmatch menu or to quit, select Quit, now you'll be on the Start screen

Step 5: Enter again Deathmatch and select the boss you want, now you have unlimited battery with the weapon that you had equipped at the beggining of the match.

**Slash attack**: The attack that is done by shaking the Wii remote
**XL**: Using X number of hits during a low combo
**HL**: Using X number of hits during a high combo
**5L**: Using 5 hits during a low combo with a high estasy gauge
**Estasy Gauge**: The tiger that appears on the lower right part of the screen, when it turns red (even without a white aura), it lets you do a fifth hit during combos and also roll after doing a full combo
**Darkstep**: Pressing left/right after an enemy attack connects to slow down enemies, and after it, procceding to attack
**Parry**: Pressing the guard button on the correct time in order to block an otherwise unavoidable attack (unless rolling/out of range) and after it, procceding to attack

[section=Weapon Analysis on Battle]

**Blood Berry**: The best option for this fight, even with it's low battery, it can be used through all the fight thanks to having some moments where you can't attack Matt Helms
**Camelia MK-III**: A similar option to Blood Berry, but with weaker attacks, it doesn't need to be reloaded, which may help in order to learn the basics of the fight.
**Peony**: Its slow hitrate doesn't go well on this battle
**Rose Nasty**: Similar to the Camelia but with  less damage, making the fight slower, not recommended.

> **Horizontal swing**: Matt Helms will charge at you and proceed to do a horizontal swing, in case he hits a wall, he will get stuck on it for some seconds.
Darkstep? No
Parry? Yes
Makes stunning him easier? Yes, after 4-5 hits he will get stunned if he has been stuck on a wall.


> **Vertical swing**: Matt Helms will raise his axe, and then will slam the ground with it, in case you block the attack but don't evade it, you will get dizzy during some seconds (you won't receive damage from it)
Darkstep? No
Parry: Yes
Makes stunning him easier? No


> **Flamethrower**: Matt Helms will activate its flamethrower.
Darkstep? No
Parry: Yes
Makes stunning him easier? Yes, after 4-5 hits he will get stunned if he hasn't finished the movement.


> **Molotov**: Matt Helms will stand still, throwing you Molotov cocktails
Darkstep? No
Parry? Yes
Makes stunning him easier? No, during this attack his defence will increase, making him more resistant to your attacks


[section=Battle Strategy]

**FIRST THIRD**

All the course of the battle is based on two of his movements, the Horizontal swing and the Flamethrower, this is because those two attacks are the one that leave him exposed during more time and also make stunning him possible.

When the battle starts, you want to approach him and make him do an Horizontal swing so he gets stuck on a wall, after it, you'll want to do a slash attack, followed by a 1L, and a 1H, after those, the next attack that is done will be a guaranted stun on Matt Helms, after that, use a loop of 3L and 1H until he does a vertical axe attack, avoid it, and continue using the loop of 3L and 1H to trigger the first QTE

**SECOND AND THIRD THIRDS**

After giving him the first QTE, you'll want to give him a slash attack followed by a 5L and inmediately, dodge in order to get further away from him and start reloading your battery, after that, he may use any movement, but there's a high chance he'll either use the Horizontal swing or the flamethrower (the flamethrowers saves a bit more time).

> In case he uses the Flamethrower, use a Slash attack on him followed by a 3L as soon as he starts the attack animation, after that, use a 1H and then a 5L in order to trigger the next QTE.

> In case he uses the Horizontal swing, you just have to follow the same sequence that has been used during the first third

**Rose Nasty**: Similar to the Blood Berry, but with a lot less damage, making the fight slower, may be a good option to start practising with this weapon if you want to learn the battle's flow

> **Kick and Slash**: Skelter Helter will try to kick you if you're on close range, if the kick connects, he'll proceed to do a jumpslash to you.
Darkstep? No
Parry? Unknown (I haven't tried, but as the battle is played, it doesn't seem to be useful at all)
Cancels his guard? Yes, on both parts, you can attack him and he won't be able to attack (you have time for 1 slash hit)


> **Multislash**: Skelter Helter will do 3 slashes to you and then proceed to do a jump slash
Darkstep? Yes, be careful on the time you attack him, since it may turn into a clash and make you lose time
Parry: Think yes, haven't tested it since darkstep is the best option
Cancels his guard? Yes, on any part of the attack he'll get his guard cancelled


> **Three-slash and bullets**: Skelter Helter will do three slashes and then proceed to shoot you with some bullets (think 6 is the number he shoots at you)
Darkstep? Yes, at least the last slash and all the bullets
Parry: Yes, at least the bullets
Cancel his guard? No, he'll attack soon after the first attack that you connect on him


> **Three bullet**: Skelter Helter will shoot 3 bullets to you
Darkstep? Yes, at least the last one
Parry? Yes
Cancel his guard? No, he'll attack soon after the first attack that you connect on him


> **Recover**: After being on the ground, Skelter Helter will roll and attack you on 360 degrees

[section=Battle Strategy]

**FIRST THIRD**

The most important moments of this fight are the first 10 seconds, after those, Skelter will turn into a punching back, being everything you have to do till the end 0 RNG based.

When the battle starts, you want to get near him and instantly use a roll, after this, there may happen 4 different things:

> If he uses the three-slash and bullets, you're just losing time, the best thing will be you reset and try again

> If he uses the multislash, you want to darkstep him, do a 3L > 3L (when this ends darkstep will probably have ended already) > Slash Attack > 2 low attacks > Grab him

> If he uses the Kick and Slash, you'll want to do a slash attack > 3L > roll > 1 low attack > roll

> If he uses the three bullet, you'll want to roll once again so you can darkstep on range the third bullet, after that, you'll go 3L > Slash attack > 3L

After that, he should be stunned, when that happens, you want to give him as much hits you can without him recovering (depends on when he starts to get stunned, it may even be a full combo) and do a wrestle move on him.

When he's on the ground, you want to do a 4L on him (without a slash attack, since it is an unneeded waste of battery), and after it, there will be the first QTE.

An important thing to notice is that when Skelter Helter is on the ground, the QTE will always be delayed to the 4th hit of a combo (unless really low on health, where it will happen sooner), making it possible to give the first QTE at almost 1/2 of his HP, this also happens on some other bosses, like Matt Helms.

**SECOND THIRD**

After giving him the first QTE, you'll want to give him a slash attack followed by a 5L, if everything has been played right, he won't make any attack and on the last hit you'll get the second QTE.

**LAST THIRD**

When the second QTE has been given, you'll want to do a slash attack followed by 3L, where he'll get back to the fight, you'll want to darsktep his recovery move and do another 5L, where at the end you'll land the last QTE.
