Debug Mode Guide

By SuperSqankSuperSqank Last updated

Here is an explanation on how to access and use the debug mode. Debug mode is naturally needed for the Debug% category but it is also a great practice resource (being able to easily reach and reattempt skips which might not normally be possible without resetting the level) so either way, the debug mode is very helpful.

In order to access debug mode, you need to add this line of code to the game's in.ini file

AllowMasterCheats = 1

Currently, this is the only way access the debug mode. In the case of the console versions, the debug mode has curently only been accessed on emulators and not on original hardware.

In order to control debug mode:

On PC:
Activating: G
Fly Up: Punch (Q by Default)
Fly Down: Incredi-Attack (E by Default)
Fly Faster: Crouch (C by Default)

On GC:
Activating: L + R + Z
Fly Up: Y
Fly Down: X
Fly Faster: L or R Trigger

On PS2:
Activating: Select
Fly Up: Triangle
Fly Down: Square
Fly Faster: L1 or R1

On XBOX:
Activating: Select
Fly Up: Y
Fly Down: X
Fly Faster: L or R Trigger

A difference between debug mode on PC/PS2/XBOX and GameCube is that on PC/PS2/XBOX, you have an on screen display showing debug info (the most useful being X, Y, Z coordinates) whereas this isn't present in the GameCube version.
