Hi! I'm considering running this game and I was curious about something I wasn't clear on. Does it matter what version of the game you install (combo versus standalone)? Thanks!

Installing standalone will give you the best load times possible, compared to if you installed your combo disc.

If you install standalone, you'll need to have the cache of a combo disc though to get sewer skip, which can be done by loading into sewers on combo disc.
