Category Definition

Like every other III-era GTA's, Vice City Stories uses a completion point system for determining percentage completed.
The PSP versions have a total of 223 completion points, while this number is 240 in the PS2 versions.
The "Percentage completed" stat in the game is calculated by dividing the player's current completion points by the total points of the respective version.

The goal of the 100% categories is to complete every single objective that gives the player a completion point. This is NOT the same as reaching 100% completion in the stats menu!

Important Notes

  1. Due to a mechanism built into the game code, the player will be awarded an additional completion point when completing the second-to-last objective, reaching 100% completion in the stats before actually completing the last objective that gives a completion point. (The only exception is when the runner's last remaining objective is a Rampage or a Unique Stunt.) However, the last objective MUST also be completed in order for the run to be legit. IF THIS IS MISSED, THE RUN WILL BE INVALIDATED.

  2. The player MUST take over at least 1 'Drugs' type empire site after completing 'From Zero to Hero' but before completing 'Hostile Takeover'. If this is missed, the runner WILL lock themself out of receiving a completion point for unlocking 'Drugs' type sites, thus invalidating their run.

  3. The player should NOT take over every 'Drugs', 'Smuggling' and/or 'Robbery' type empire sites before the completion of 'From Zero to Hero'. Doing so can potentionally lock the player out of unlocking these empire types, making it impossible to receive multiple completion points.

  4. The player MUST NOT skip (e.g. via duping) the levels of side missions that award the player completion points. Doing so will lock the player out of receiving a completion point for completing the skipped level. This applies to:

  • Level 1 of 'Extortion', 'Loan Shark', 'Pimping', 'Drug Running', 'Smuggling' and 'Robbery'
  • Level 15 of 'Extortion', 'Loan Shark' and 'Pimping'
  • Level 6 of 'Drug Running', 'Smuggling' and 'Robbery'
  • Level 15 of 'Air Rescue', 'Beach Patrol', 'Fire Fighter', 'Paramedic' and 'Vigilante'
  1. The player MUST NOT skip any storyline missions (e.g. via duping OR CurrentMissionChain variable manipulation by going om0 OR "Act Cleanup Bypass" aka "PACB" aka "Save Glitch"). Doing so will lock the player out of receiving a completion point for the skipped mission.

Objectives

The following objectives give the player completion points (ie count towards 100% completion):

completing each of the 59 Story Missions - i.e. they can't be skipped (59)

Empires

  • completing level 1 of each empire mission - i.e. level 1 can't be skipped (6)
  • completing level 15 of 'Extortion', 'Loan Shark' and 'Pimping' each - i.e. level 15 can't be skipped (3)
  • completing level 6 of 'Drug Running', 'Smuggling' and 'Robbery' each - i.e. level 6 can't be skipped (3)
  • building one of each empire type in 'High Roller' size (6)
  • completing the first successful empire takeover (1)
  • taking over a 'Drugs' type empire site after 'From Zero to Hero' but before 'Hostile Takeover' (1)
  • taking over a 'Smuggling' and 'Robbery' type empire sites at any point after 'From Zero to Hero' (2)
  • simultaneously possessing any 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and all 30 empire sites (6)

Vehicle Missions

  • completing level 15 of 'Air Rescue', 'Beach Patrol', 'Fire Fighter', 'Paramedic' and 'Vigilante' - i.e. level 15 can't be skipped (5)
  • completing (all 5 levels of) 'Fire Copter' and 'Vice Sights' (2)
  • completing a total of 50 fares OR earning a total of $5,000 in 'Taxi Driver' (1)

passing each of the Checkpoint Challenge side missions

  • 'Playground on the Point' (1)
  • 'Playground on the Town' (1)

passing each of the Time Trial side missions

  • 'Crims on Wings' (1)
  • 'Haiti Hover Race' (1)
  • 'Harbor Hover Race' (1)
  • 'Land, Sea and Air Ace' (1)
  • 'Mashin' Up the Mall' (1)
  • 'Skywolf' (1)

Multi-Level Time Trials

  • passing each of the 8 'BMX Time Trials' levels (8)
  • passing each of the 4 'Quad Bike Time Trials' levels (4)
  • passing each of the 12 'Sanchez Time Trials' levels (12)
  • passing each of the 8 'Watersports' levels (8)

Street Races

  • winning each of the 5 'Turismo' street races on the Mainland (5)
  • winning each of the 4 'Turismo' street races on Vice Beach (4)

Miscellaneous Side Missions

  • passing 'Crash!' (1)
  • passing (all 5 levels of) 'Phil's Shooting Range' (1)
  • passing 'Swinger's Club' (1)

delivering all vehicles for each of the 4 Import/Export lists (4)

Collectibles

  • passing each of the 30 Rampages (30)
  • passing ALL of the 30 Rampages - yes, there is a separate completion point for this (1)
  • popping 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 and all 99 Red Balloons (10)
  • completing each of the 30 Unique Stunts (30)
  • completing ALL of the 30 Unique Stunts - yes, there is a separate completion point for this (1)

PS2 Exclusive Objectives

In addition to the list above, the following exclusive content also award completion points in the PS2 versions:

passing each of new the Checkpoint Challenge side missions

  • 'Playground on the Dock' (1)
  • 'Playground on the Park' (1)

passing each of the new Time Trial side missions

  • 'Caddy Daddy' (1)
  • 'Crims on Water Wings' (1)
  • 'Hyman Memorial O.D.T.' (1)

passing the side mission 'Rush!' (1)

Collectibles

  • passing each of the additional 5 Rampages (5)
  • completing each of the additional 6 Unique Stunts (6)

In the PS2 versions, the completion points for completing all Rampages and Unique Stunts are only awarded after the completion of the additional Rampages and Unique Stunts respectively.
