Ads must be included in total time, it says so in the rules. Turning off WiFi still works, you just need to launch the game with wifi off or restart it if you turned it off whilst the game was already open.
I think it was just typed wierdly. I think he means "Ads can't be subtracted" or something along the lines of that considering the next sentence "Ad's MUST be a part of the run"
the way i see that, ads have to be subtracted by the time but must be in the video as proof you arent splicing
