How long to beat isnt really that good. I made a list of src alternatives last year before elo even bought the site. I'll copy paste it here. https://speedrun.com https://www.twingalaxies.com/ http://tasvideos.org/ http://www.speeddemosarchive.com/ https://www.speedrunslive.com/ https://cyberscore.me.uk https://sheets.google.com There are also several leaderboards for games like mega man leaderboards, and google sheets is another alternative.

Pace.rip made this recently, but it's not like a full site or anything, but some code that can be used for rudimentary leaderboards.
lmao Twin Galaxies and SDA. And you call this site "dying" ?
Anyone that thinks this site is dying needs to get checked
The site is dying of overpopulation 🤔 (so the site is down for short periods of time)
Implying cyberscore isn't also a mess (still works good enough for what it needs to tho)
There is no reason to have a leaderboard for TASes. All that matters is the fastest TAS, no third place or whatever for a tool-assisted run that is usually made frame by frame.
@Laxxus it's nice to have one because it can help keep track of the older fastest runs to see how the TAS progressed, or you could see TAS strats people half-hazardly tried before but didn't optimize, making their specific run slower but the overall run faster. As for the site itself looking like / being trash, that's its own discussionw hich I know nothing about.
They have a tab for obsoleted TASes in the game and often even list rejected/cancelled submissions. So everything you wished for ;-)
There are some alternatives explored at the end of this video, as well as lots of critical thoughts on the current state of speedrun.com
The title is exagerated to get more clicks, but the content is worth sharing. Most comments will share the opinion that speedrun.com is nowhere near dying, but still, it goes through the updates the site has had and its issues. I've learnt a bunch
Its not dead but it is not what it used to be and anything but community driven at this point

I think I'll watch this to see if I can learn something. 🤔
Wait.... there are alternatives? well to think about it, speedrunning is just leaderboards... right? on a virtual wall...
so who's to stop you from putting up one yourself, except you'd have to attract people to put stuff on it though...
