FFXV - NG+ (with AMG prior) Guide

Updated for Oct 2023

Will type up a quick guide for the New Game Plus category, with Active Menu Glitch activated before Time starts.

Since the file starts from a completed New Game file, you can be as buffed as you like, with whatever equipment/spells/outfits you like before the start. I keep it simple and stick with 3 Magitek Suits for the Bros, Royal Raiment for myself (with Rare Metal, Trihead Heart, and Tech Turbocharger), Lv 120, proper food for the Ignis Sushi (will take some time doing the sidequest near Bismark, getting a specific Tuna to unlock the Recipe), Sylkis Greens (complete Black Chocobo sidequest from Wiz), Chocobo Lv 10, and a spell that breaks damage limit (Freeze), with another that can Quintcast (Blizzara/Thundara). Noct's weapons should be: Ragnarok + Airstep Sword+Mage Mashers + BT Spell.

Trigger the AMG in a different file, one that is not NG+. I have not been able to get the AMG going within a NG+ file, but if it is possible, it would add 10 minutes to this category as the big sequence breaks can only begin after unlocking the Regalia to drive from Cindy.

As of now, I like to have the car parked on the road at night, northward, beside Hammerhead. With a save file loaded in front of the car, interact with it, either Disagree or Take Over after Iggy's convo, then R2 (Tactical Menu), scroll left or right to Take Photo, Circle (choose), X/Cross (cancel), Options (start), X, R2, Circle, Triangle (Gallery), X, Triangle, X twice, Circle, now the Regalia Menu should be up on the Loadscreen. Once you see the Red Danger Bar for when an enemy spans on the road, Choose Main Menu, Choose Elemanacy, leave the blue box on screen. Once hit by the enemy, Circle on the 2nd blue box that appears on top of the first, R3+L3 (change view), and walk down the road, away from the enemies. Once out of battle range, run off the road into the fields (either direction). Once Noctis stops running, Circle out of all the blue boxes, and there should be a Menu Watermark on the screen now, showing Active Menu Glitch is now enabled. Return to Title, open Comrades, back out Comrades menu, and the watermark is now gone. You can now start your NG+ run. The glitch will stay active as long as you do not close the ffxv.exe client.

Assuming you have AMG, continue through the intro cutscenes as per normal. Angle the camera while pushing the car to the front, to save on the loadtime.

Speaking with Cindy once, jump straight for the Chocobo Kiosk (9 jumps), buying a bird for 1 day. Hang a left, jump and warp over the fence, and start warping with your daggers to the campsite, behind the first set of Scorpions (Criclawe Haven).

In first person mode, Camp. Eat the Sushi and Sylkis Greens. Jump on the bird that should spawn. Open of your Main Menu, switch to 1st person, and you should have view of the world now. During movement, have the Item menu up, where you can press Triangle (Sort) and Square (Dash) in succession to sprint occasionally. X to back out, and you can repeat this trick. Run straight and left of Hammerhead, about halfway between it and the Fort. Once you reach the fence, hand a left, and keep hugging and sprinting along it. There is a seem that you'll be able to pass through.

Once through the seem, you can close the menu, and proceed on the bird as per normal, alternating Dash and Jump+Break (L2). Trot towards the city in the background. Once you get to some sand, hop off, open up the Options Menu, try to Save, but after picking a slot, immediately press Circle (Select) again and hold, in order to Mount your bird with the Yes/No Blue Box if the Save popping up. This will allow you to retain movement, and Save in a place you are not meant to.

Aim towards the 3rd tower from the left. Should take about 2 minutes of swimming. Once the terrain dissapears, Select Yes, then back out of the menu. Proceed to Load the file you just created. If done properly, you will load into Ch 14.

Proceed through Insomnia with dagger-warps, to the Ahrimans. Before entering their cutscene, open the Garb menu, and walk into the cutscene. Choose any garb you currently aren't wearing (ex. Prince Fatigues), and when the screen fades to black, equip Prince Fatigues again - this should cause Naked Noctis). Defeat them with the BT Spell + Armiger (L1+R1, then hold Attack (Circle)). Moving to the base, open menu again and equip Magitek Suit, and Freeze. Speaking with Cor twice in the base, head upstairs for Josef's sidequest. Continue to Cereberus.

Use Freeze here, and 1/2 Ragnarok Warp Strikes. Gladio should have Royal Guard here, and Prompto should have Piercer, with Ignis wielding Regroup. For Cerb 2, Ragnarok the left foot, it should go down, then teleport to a warppoint, then back down to spam Rag Warp Strikes on the dog..

Continue to Ifrit. One Riggy Strike and a 3hitAirCombo should cause the summon animation will play automatically.

Ifrit 2, and the hardest part of this category. Preferably, reduce Ifrit's HP down to 0 now, so it gets more predictable fight behaviour. Get to the highest point and left of the Citadel. Wait for Ifrit to fly up to you. With Airdance and Airstep Sword, let go of the warp point, and dance with the beast in midair. You are trying to gain as much height as possible. Once satisfied (30-50 hits, or when your MP bar is at ~50% or lower - I look for ~200MP), keep warping to the leftmost corner, where the Throne Room is.

Keep warping into the corner, and messing with camera angle. If Ifrit comes to you, feel free to Airdance some more. The goal here is to spawn your party into the room, more likely when you see the map change, and Ifrit stays with you in the corner. Try to get a peak with camera angle changing, to see if there are flashlights or bodies in that Throne Room. Once you see them, and Ifrit eventually comes back to you, as long as you are staying the air, use Royal Guard/Piercer/Regroup. You are now in the Throne room. Rarely, some party members will spawn in the room, so if you activated the Friend Tech of the wrong one, try to activate a different one immediately, as they will spawn back on the ground floor if Noctis stays down there for too long.

After the cutscene, get your friends to the main landing. you can warp a little closer to the rear door to do this. Eventually, you want either Ignis or Gladio on this circular spot. Jump/warp back up to the left corer of the room. Hugging the narrow point, there should be a Warp Point you can reach. Once your Tech Bar is at 2 or higher, warp away. Now Warp to Ifrit in the sky, and once struck, use your ally ability to bring Noctis back into the Throne Room.

You want to despawn the floor of the Throne Room, such that Regroup/Royal Guard puts you through the floor, onto a lower portion below the stairs. At the left part of the new ground, a little beyond the small fence, jump and dagger warp air movement 3 times, across the large gap through the stone textures, towards left of the rear door. This should let you phase through the wall, into the main foyer before the final boss door.

After a successful clip, head into the hallway, and back out. Note, some warping may be disabled temporarily here. The door should be interactable now. Before interacting with the door, reequip Prince Fatigues (or the one that causes Naked Noctis). No longer do we need to wait for the cutscene, as with no clothes, the game thinks we aren't in the Party, so there's no check to make sure we're old (remember, we wrong warped here from Ch 1). Proceed through the Throne Room, to Ardyn below.

With Ifrit 2 not defeated, you may still see him floating around. Pay him no heed. Proceed to go out of bounds against Ardyn 1, warping to the right corner of the gate, and after warping right, and back left into the corner, continuously pushing against the invisible wall to gain height with dagger warps. Once high enough (about 11 warps), veer right immediately and keep warping until you are past the rubble. Keep bunny hopping in the same direction, and get to the tower where Cor is waiting for you. Before talking to him, equip some garb to dispell Naked Noctis. Hopefully, Ardyn spawns near you now in a rage. Ragnarok warp strike him to about half health (~5 strikes). Speak with Cor quickly, you want him to age you 10 years upon Sidequest start.

Starting the quest, you are now Old Noct again. Ardyn 2 cutscene should trigger shortly. Ffinish off his HP with God Mode Warp Strike spammage (hold R1 to Lock in and Triangle), and Ardyn 3 goes down to 4-6 hits with Sword of the Father. Warning, do not interact with Ifrit's QTE; he's hanging around, being not dead and all, and will soft lock you if he's feeling antsy.

That's the category.

Will type up a quick guide for the New Game Plus category, with Active Menu Glitch.

Since the file starts at a New Game, you can be as buffed as you like, with whatever equipment/spells/outfits you like before the start. I keep it simple and stick with 4 Magitek Suits, Lv 120, enough food for the Plump and Pungent Tofu, Curiel Greens, Chocobo Lv 9, and some spells that break damage limit (Freeze/Electron/Flare). Noct's weapons should be: Ragnarok+AirstepSword+dagger+BDL Spell.

Trigger the AMG in a different file, one that is not NG+. I have not been able to get the AMG going within a NG+ file, but if it is possible, it would add 10 minutes to this category as the big sequence breaks can only begin after unlocking the Regalia to drive from Cindy.

Assuming you have AMG (described in my other guide), continue through the intro cutscenes as per normal. Angle the camera while pushing the car to the front, to save on loadtimes.

Speaking with Cindy once, head straight for the Chocobo Kiosk, buying a bird for 2 days. Hang a left and start warping with your daggers to the campsite, behind the first set of Scorpions (Criclawe Haven).

Camp. Eat the Tofu and Curiel Greens. Jump on the bird that should spawn. Open of your Main Menu, switch to 1st person, and you should have view of the world now. Run straight and left of Hammerhead, about halfway between it and the Fort. Once you reach the fence, hand a left, and keep hugging and sprinting along it. There is a seem that you'll be able to pass through (note, this works only off a New Game, for some reason; if you fail it, don't bother returning to rest point to practice, it may not be there anymore).

Once through the seem, you can close the menu, and proceed on the bird as per normal, alternating Dash and Break (L2).

Proceed through Insomnia with dagger-warps, to the Ahrimans. Defeat them with a Spell + Ragnarok warp strikes. After speaking with Cor twice in the base, head upstairs for Josef's sidequest. Continue to Cereberus.

Use Freeze here, and Ragnarok Warp Strikes. If they don't do 9999 damage, you can use Iggy's Enhancement. Gladio should have Royal Guard here, and Prompto is not used. Same strat for Cerb 2.

Continue to Ifrit. One Freeze, Raggy Strikes, etc. The summon aniamtion will play automatically if you bring is HP down to 0 fast.

Ifrit 2, and the hardest part of this category. Get to the higest point and left of the Citadel. Wait for Ifrit to fly up to you. With Airdance and Airstep Sword, let go of the warp point, and dance with the beast in midair. You are trying to gain as much height as possible. Once satisfied (50 hits, or when your MP bar is at ~50% or lower - I look for ~200MP), keep warping to the leftmost corner, where the Throne Room is.

Keep warping into the corner, and messing with camera angle. If Ifrit comes to you, feel free to Airdance some more. The goal here is to spawn your party into the room, more likely when you see the map change, and Ifrit stays with you in the corner. Try to get a peak with camera angle changing, to see if there are flashlights or bodies in that Thronw Room. Once you see them, and Ifrit eventually comes back to you, as long as you are staying the air, use Royal Guard/Enhancement/Regroup. You are now in the Throne room.

After the cutscene, head to the opposite door. There should be a Warp Point you can reach. Once your pals are beside you, and your Tech Bar is at 2 or higher, warp away. Now Warp to Ifrit in the sky, and once struck, use your ally ability to bring Noctis back into the Throne Room.

Angle is key here, as you want to despawn the walls of the Throne Room, such that Regroup/Enhancement/Royal Guard puts you through or around the door, into the main foyer. Do not touch the floor after you warp out of the Throne Room, as your party will once again respawn in Ifrit's battle arena.

After a successful clip, head into the hallway, and back out. The door should be interactable now. The same AMG method is used here to get past the cutscene: Switch a Weapon -> Main Menu -> Elemancy -> Examine Flask + Interact with Door (hold Circle) -> Square to switch to Equip Menu -> Wait until Ardyn's line "how i've waited" -> Change Outfit to something else -> Once screen fades, reselect the same outfit, making it go blank -> walk forward -> Equip 1st Outfit during cutscene -> Warp down and fight Ardyn.

Once high enough, veer right immediately and keep warping until you are past the rubble. Keep bunny hopping in the same direction, and get to the tower where Cor is waiting for you.

Starting the quest, you are now Old Noct again. Don't worry about stealth, just start a scuffle with the guard. Ardyn will interfere with your operation, at which point, you can attack him with any remaining BDL Spells and Ragnarok Warp Strikes. Deplete his HP as much as you can, transition to Ardyn 2, finish off his HP with God Mode Warp Strike spammage, and Ardyn 3 goes down to ~4 hits with Sword of the Father.

That's the category.
