Hello!

Since there's no discord or anything (edit: there is now) of the sort, I figured I'd post this here.

When trying to get WR on Fearsome Factory 3, I somehow accidentally had a glitch happen to me that allowed me to move during a cutscene when normally the game freezes you (even midair). Since I record my every attempt and key inputs, I had a look and tried to recreate it. After some time I did manage it once and I thought I'd post it here.

It's not bad enough that the cutscene movement glitch is right after THE HARDEST JUMP IN THE GAME, but it's also incredibly difficult to get it to work in the first place. I didn't try too much since it was late but I did get the successful attempt on video.

The 2 times I managed to get it to work I did the following. I took a step towards the ladder and quick double jumped (not the flip double jump), grabbed the ladder and quick jump just as the cutscene starts. It might be frame perfect, I don't know. Sometimes you freeze in the air (aka failed attempt), sometimes you hear yourself jump and you fall to the bottom of the ladder instead of freezing midair, but you won't be able to move still and on a successful attempt you can just fully move I guess, although you can't see yourself due to the cutscene taking place at the same time.

First time I got this glitch by accident, I just walked into the pit and died during the cutscene.

I didn't really know where to post it as the game doesn't exactly have the largest following but I thought I'd post it here at least.

I had "walking in a pit" happen to me aswell, might be worth investigating for other maps. But it seems pretty tight.

Also apparently this is something that can happen.

Hey guys really impressed with all the stuff you've come up with, never could have done it by myself back in the day :) But the rules for the 10 nukes category feel weird, why not run 100% instead?

@Xarthok well there is the 100%, it's called hard-max

Are you guys planning on doing some tutorials on glitches? I tried to compete and ran the game in middle 2017 but struggled with replicating some bugs. My PB is 1:23 and it could possibly go lower.

Also, what about creating a discord channel or something?

@Maku What glitches do you have trouble recreating? I could try to explain.

Making a discord might not be a bad idea, though the games playerbase is rather small. It might be a better idea to join with an already existing duke nukem speedrun discord and add DNMP as a sub-category there.

I didnt even know that other Duke games have their own discords :o I think that chatting through discord would be easier. I mean you can send pictures faster etc. And thank you for trying to help me, i will try to do some runs in following month, upload it here and then i will learn new stuff. I haven't touched the game since 2017 D=

Well, I expected there to be a discord channel for Duke Nukem speedrunning somewhere but apparently there really isn't one. At least as far as I could see. Maybe I'm just bad at looking and someone can correct me.
