Forums  /  Driver 2  /  Game freeze in NTSC Version on emulator?
  thebpg13

Hi there, recently I was testing out the NTSC version of this game and to no surprise it is a lot faster than PAL however there's a hitch which is that, in the NTSC Version the game hardlocks and freezes near the end of Destroy the Yard (Last mission in Vegas)

This seems to be a reoccurring thing on ePSXe but was wondering if anyone had any similar problems with the same version of the game on other emulators?

If it is a major problem on emulator then it seems like a NTSC PS2 with FDS enabled and the NTSC version of this game is your quickest option at running this game.

I've never had this problem before ... Have you tried different settings for the emulator video plugin? I've always used ePSXe version 1.7.0, the new ones have always brought me problems in other games and I do not remember if it was like this with Driver 2 as well
The other emulator I use to play casually is Retroarch, and I have also never faced problems other than small bugs in the sound.

Ahh well I can give it a try and get back to you on that but I'm not so sure, at least the PAL version definitely works though so there's that ?

I had issues with the game crashing on PS2, FDS or not. No issues with PS1 or with the XEBRA emulator though (I'm iffy on ePSXe for any speedruns anyway).
