Would there be any benefits to running the base version of doom 3 I have my disk still. Unfound tech etc? I assume it might be difficult to run on current operating systems.

It runs fine actually. Generally, there are some small differences between 1.0 and 1.3. The one big difference is barrel boosting that was patched out in 1.3. It doesn't do much for the speedrun, though. There are a couple of places where it can be useful but nothing major and nothing that doesn't have a different way of going about it. That's as far as we found. There could always be some more exploits, you never know.
