The sole reason why that (unity) leaderboard exists is because it is official release. It actually is pretty much vanilla, but some tweaks that those ports by bethesda have make them essentially TAS in classic doom landscape (mainly due to autosr50 and sr50 on turns). However if you manage to playback classic demo on them (and people did), they do work flawlessly, meaning it is unchanged game behavior.
As to WHY in general they were created, then the answer is pretty simple. Original DOOMs on PC were dosbox + wads, and many casual players (actually most), would just launch and play and it was kind of ass. So bethesda went and made this free for all pc users, but also allowed console and mobile players to buy it and play, which is obviously for money, but is still nice.
Not sure what this question has to do here, but here's your answer, hope it satisfies you.

They have vanilla behavior?, oh... I really felt it easier and with a little of bit weird playability.
So, I take back what I said about my ignorant arguments.

Thanks for the answer.
