Bizhawk is in pass to be the more accurate emulator for every platform (PSX, Genesis, Snes...). They work very hard ! Psxfin is faster than Psxjin but that's why is not considerate legit by many communities and websites like SRL. Psxjin 2.0.2 respect the caracteristics of the console and emulate the lag (yes it's important to respect that too ^^)
IGT are not weirds, it's based on framerate and don"t depend of the emulator. It's not a clock timer who determine the IGT so if your framerate change during the run it's because of something else (computer, update, something working during the run...) The difference between RTA and IGT on my runs are always the same from a run to another. And my IGT on PSP is close to my Pal console PB which is in 50 Hz. That proove the IGT is based on framerate and he is good.
But now the leaderboard is ruled by RTA so it doesn't matter anymore. That's not a reason to use an emulator faster but not considerate legit.
For another category, if 100% means "all dino files" there is no interest to make a speedrun slower just to take the files. There is no 100% on that kind of games because it's useless and there is not enough differences with any%. Most of the 11 files are on the Any% road. Why not just starting by running Any% before to ask for another useless category ?
Well, I will refresh this thread)) I have an idea to add some "new" PS1 emulators to the Dino Crisis 2 because now we have only two not very popular emulators. Well, I think that this one idea is not new... Nevertheless, in my opinion there is must be added at least ePSXe or some another famous emulator to give more "emulator speedrun possibilities" to the DC2 community.
I have tested a lot of emulators with various plugins. So, I can exactly say that ePSXe (at least 1.8.0, 1.9.0 and 2.0.0) is working with DC2 very good. But I would add something else...
These two emulators we have are good, but:
- PSXjin is really working fine, but it's quite old;
- EmuHawk is very accurate in emulation, but slow enough for speedrunning.
So, that's my point of view. What do you think about that?
PSP / Emu (as console) leaderboard is ruled by IGT The whole leaderboard is ruled by RTA only because of the PC version I'd like we can choose between RTA and IGT for every leaderboard but it's not possible
