List of Known Bugs

The following is a list of known bugs that can act as detriments to a speedrun of DDG.

Stealth Business Suit Deactivation During Fly

When stealth business suit is activated or deactivated, all of Dilbert's momentum is instantaneously stopped. As such, if Dilbert is in the middle of an anti-gravity fly when the suit deactivates, the fly will be immediately cancelled, even if the fly key continues to be held.

If the timing of this deactivation is particularly atrocious, Dilbert can end up in a state where visually he is on one floor but his player collision resides on the floor from which he started his fly. In this state, Dilbert will "run into" walls on the source floor, but will still be able to stun gun (or be hit by) NPCs on the destination floor, and can also pick up donuts on the destination floor so long as a wall on the source floor does not impede him. Once he navigates off one side of the screen, he will appear on the other side of the screen on the floor from which he started the fly, ostensibly having teleported to the floor.

Window of Invulnerability

When either Dilbert or a NPC is wrapping around from one side of the screen to the other, there is a brief time frame in which the character is invulnerable to NPC hits or stun gun shots - the latter manifesting in the stun gun shot appearing to go straight through the NPC without affecting them.

Dueling Entry Animations Softlock

If a door is right next to the elevator, and Dilbert makes to enter the elevator from the side of the door just so, the door will open as if Dilbert were going in it as he actually goes into the elevator. This bug also applies to a cubicle being next to the elevator rather than a door, though there is no visual indication of the bug happening like with a door. If level clearance has not yet been granted, this bug will produce a softlock in which Dilbert is stuck in the elevator unable to move.

Moonwalk Entry Softlock

If holding the left or right directional key while entering the elevator, should that directional key be let go then tapped again before arriving fully in the elevator, Dilbert will start moonwalking into the elevator. If level clearance has not yet been granted, this bug will also produce a softlock in which Dilbert is stuck in the elevator unable to move.

Directional Key Disabled After Fly or Warp

If you run into a wall and keep holding the corresponding directional key, then execute either an anti-gravity fly or a time-space warp to a new location, that directional key will not work to move Dilbert until after the opposite directional key is pressed.
