I was just wondering why on normal Wii Sports emulators are separated, but for resort they are all out banned.

Emulators are banned due to MotionPlus. There are still many inaccuracies with the emulation of this accessory that have significant gameplay changes, so it cannot be allowed

but i will say this it has inproved and also i would accept if they are a seprate catagory whare emulator runs are allowed

Why nahh what is the thing that is holding back just making a separate thing for emulator runs

With emulators being differenciated from console in the first place, being "different" doesn't need to make it outright not exist in some senses, if we are not going to compare them anyways.

I would think an important aspect for emulation leaderboard would be keeping some gameplay consistency on base that can make sense of a leaderboard and a competitive aspect, and will not be drasticaly damaged if the software attempting to improve upon it's functionality has still a lot of work to get across. This might be a problem depending on how solved MotionPlus on emulator is on current state.

But regardless I want just the ability to use a emulator for speedruns and this applies to nearly any game that isn't on pc natively because I'd expect compromises like a separate leaderbord or a rule requirement saying you need your fps counter and other stuff on because I'd take that over outright banning emulators especially for handhelds because getting a capture card for a 3ds or ds is extremely difficult and emulator is the most accessible way to record without having to point a camera to your ds which is difficult to do
