Hello, it's been a while. I must admit that the backlog situation in regards to speedrun verifications was beyond terrible. Some runs haven't been verified in months while I was absent. In some way, it's not my fault, but I still should have tried to oversee some of it as a defacto moderator, despite my busy life situation. Massive thanks to Ducknorriss, remember_me_remember, Jeranu49 and skv0r1x for going through that all of that backlog. (There seem to be a ton of runs that were verified in one or two days by the same user, we might want to go through them at a later date to double check, we'll see).
To address the ongoing issues, we're going to do two things:
- remove moderators / verifiers that haven't verified or rejected anything in the last 2 months (after that threshold, the earliest runs were verified or rejected 6 months ago, which is a large range).
- reopen verifier applications.
The verifier application form is the same as the last time. Complete the short quiz that will test your knowledge about things related to the game's speedruns: https://forms.gle/PUmcDaJMcWvdt74W6. If you get at least 60% of the questions correct, you will be put on trial period as verifier. The form will be open until March 23rd, and unlike last time me and Ducknorriss will be checking the applications live (with respect to our own availability, of course). If you pass you will be assigned as a verifier immediately instead of waiting until the form closes to start on your duties. Best of luck to new applicants!
To close things out, I will be stepping down as the moderator for the game once verifier applications close. Reasons are lack of motivation, interest and time. There probably are some other moderators who feel similar. If you do, tell me or Duck. In the meantime, if any of you people have suggestions regarding the leaderboards such as adding or removing categories, or ideas for restructuring (I think you can play some new levels with different characters now and it's permanent?), tell us in the Discord or the forums (Discord would be more convenient), and we'll try our best to implement them. Thanks for your interest in this game's speedruns and once again, I'm sorry. Let's create a better and more stable future for this game together.
Hello there, and happy new year!
There has been some slowdown in speedrun verifications, and that is why I've decided today that we are opening verifier applications. If you think you know enough about Vector and its speedruns and have what it takes to regularly check runs and verify their legitimacy/quality, you can fill out this form and complete the short quiz that will test your knowledge about things related to the game's speedruns: https://forms.gle/2HCTtEB2R2MNHVjV9
If you get at least 70% of the questions correct, you will be put on a trial period as an actual speedrun verifier for a month. Good luck!
Please do note that you only have one attempt to complete the quiz. Pay attention to the questions and double check your answers before submitting.
With help of our most active leaderboard moderator as of now, @Jeranu49, we've learned that the way we calculated the Full Game times was, in a way, incorrect. That is due to most runners neglecting the framerate of the game when calculating the final time. All in all, this could potentially mean a few seconds of inaccuracy, which in a game as precise as Vector, could be very significant. This is why a framerate inclusive timing method has been developed by Jeranu. You can watch the full breakdown of it down below: Starting from today, all Full Game runs will be required to be timed using this timing method. We hope you find this change useful and hopefully not too overwhelming. Best of luck in your speedruns and keep on Vectoring!
The long-awaited Vector Remastered update is here. And it has its drawbacks.
- Since the timer in the new update doesn't show the milliseconds, all remastered runs will be defaulted to 980 ms. (for example, a 0:40 run would be 0:40.98)
- We won't be adding a new speedrun category for Hard Mode as its gameplay is very similar to default gameplay.
- If you want to play the older versions, you can buy Vector Classic (or Vector Full, whatever it's called for you) in Play Store and App Store. The version of the game is the same as 1.4.2 (no level changes and stricter trick windows). Hope you understand. Have fun speedrunning!
