Crashes to 185mph car in 54:01
to finish GP 3: 1:19.58 total time: 2:13:59
To finish GP 6 1:59:39 total time: 4:13:38
To finish GP 10 1:25:16 total time: 5:38:54
I did a test for the last few days. My estimate is 5h 30min.
I used crashes to skip ahead to rank 5 and get a 185mph car and went back to Rank 1 and followed your route.
¤The test assumed you only do each event one time. I would run each event normally and if I did not get 4 or 5 stars I would pause the timer and do it again since I haven't played the game in a while. This gave me a good estimate for time it takes to do each event.
To get this route done, it will require memorizing every crash event in rank 1-4, I'll try to get a tutorial done for these eventually.
This is still not fully optimized as you could also play around with the events to potentially skip up to rank 7. However fuck the rank crashes.
This would be more marathon friendly too compared to the Championship runs.
It looks I did a few events that don't unlock further evens Which wasted time and gave me more stars than I would normally have. IGT on my profile is 6h 30min as of finishing GPs 1-9 I wasted a good amount of time on trying to gold a few events and I did the events that do not unlock things as I mentioned.
So here is my strat: Do crashes and to quickly unlock rank 5 and unlock a 185mph race car Then complete Rank 5 race events and finish the Grand Prix. As you need stars to progress, do older race events and finish each grand prix in the older events. Having the faster car should save some time in older events.
Got to Rank 10 148 stars to Elite Rank.
Total game time is 6 hours with at least 1h 30min of me being shit. So a good runner could get to Rank 10 in 4 hours.
There is no Rank 10 listed under misc at the time of this post, so idk if Elite% is suppose to be Rank 10 or if Rank 10 is to be under misc.
75 Stars to go at rank 9.
Unfortunately, it looks like I won't be able to unlock all the Gran Prixs, so Elite% and Any% will have slightly different routes. I'd have to do an elimination race in rank 3 to unlock the Gran Prix and since its 6 laps long its too slow for Elite%.
Finished the 5 crash events in rank 7 31 stars left
Was 1 star short of unlocking 8 Had to do a few low rank races that had only 1 or two laps. 63 stars to rank nine 9
I'll take note of all the non crash levels I completed after I reach rank 10. Burning Laps are automatically faster, I'm looking at the Burnout wiki to see what events unlock the faster cars. I know a few decent cars unlock at mid level road rages/traffic attacks, so now the question is if its worth doing a longer road rage to save time on races.

23 stars left after finishing all rank 6 crashes ¤missing 3 stars
If you are a 5 or less stars behind at rank 6, fastest backup in the preview event in rank 1 which unlocks after doing the burning lap, traffic attack, and road rage. It wouldn't hurt to do the preview lap anyway since you'll need to come back later to level up.
56 stars needed at the start of rank .
After doing all rank 5 crashes I still needed 18 stars. I was missing 3 because of hard crashes. All burning routes are faster than the remaining events. Next fastest is Road Rage if you total yourself. 6 Crash events in rank 6. I need 48 stars to progress, There will be 18 left after the crashes
Missing 2 crash stars to get to rank 5 Because the last two crashes in 4 are shit. Two burning routes from rank 3 are quick enough. Got to rank 5 which only has two crashes.
Had 6 missed stars and needed 4 to get to rank 4 I was missing 11 getting to unlock rank 5. I need 15 more at this point. I got 4 from a burning route in rank 3.
Rank 2 has a burning route (2min 20sec) which unlocks a road rage that can be used as backup strats for unlocking rank 5.
I'll post what I do for optimization of each rank here.
So far as I mentioned on the discord, crashes are much faster and you can unlock rank 4 with only using crashes if you get gold on all of them. If you miss a couple, the Burning routes in rank 3 are both under 1min 30s as a backup strat.
In fact it would be better to have the in game time shown by the game count overall instead of a separate category. That way emulators won't have an advantage.
Sure, I didn't add anything before since I didn't know anyone else actually played it.
Should bonus cars (for Burnout 3, Madden, etc.) saved files be allowed for runs or just use the base cars?
I just wanted to give my opinion on this. If Dolphin is giving too much of an advantage, I don't think we should ban emulators. I looked up online the cost of a Burnout 2 disc since it isn't available for download and there aren't many for sale on Amazon some copies are 90+ USD. If the game is too hard to get irl then I think emulators should still be allowed so more people can run if they want to, but note that there is an advantage. Unless we can confirm that MissinYew is just really awesome and my Gamecube was just slow.
Or we just use the in game race timer and we write down the time after each race and submit only those.
You can find my Steam account under the same name as here.
Just wondering if there could be categories for shorter runs. Maybe something like unlock rank 10 and 5 or 6.
