Thought I would revisit this. I don’t see any categories like this on this leaderboard or the extensions leaderboard. I have been maintaining my own leaderboard to track my progress with Any% World 1, as well as 100% World 1, and soon Low% World 1. Anyone is welcome to submit runs to it.

I have a silly question - when starting a new file, I see runs here that have the option to skip all of the opening cutscenes but I cannot for the life of me get this option to appear for me. How do I get it as an option?

Since I really want to run this game, but I’m not yet ready to do a run that is 1.5-2 hrs for one of the main categories (or 5!), I have started playing around with Any% World 1 - timing starts like the other categories and ends when you touch the first Royal Seed. It could be a nice introductory category of about 20 mins in length for new runners such as myself.

It seems like it could be a similar problem to Super Mario World since there is an ability to carry power ups, and some characters have different abilities, and it seems like some courses have multiple exits… there could be a massive amount of leaderboards due to the amount of variation possible for each course.

There was recently a video about the new 11 Exit Cloud world record that details all of the strats used. It might be helpful!
