Just wanted to notify everybody that I've renamed the "Any%" category to "Glitchless", and a new "Any%" has been created. The reason for this is that Satria Naliqa found a way to consistently get infinite points on any building (I've personally known of the glitch for a decade now, but never been able to find a way to reproduce it), which can happen essentially as soon as Party Game is unlocked on a new profile. This cuts a huge part of the speedrun, bringing it from 45+ minutes to less than 20, skipping most of the gameplay in the process. Because of this, I found it best to separate the categories, between runs that use the glitch and runs that don't.

Edit: Glitchless will continue being the main category for the time being, however this is subject to change depending on player activity on both categories.

Today I was doing some Bad End runs when I found a weird bug. It turns out the game must not be properly resetting in-game values after an ending is obtained (or at least Bad Ending, which is the only one I tested), because starting a new file after the credits has finished playing starts you at the 10th floor in the elevator and lets you get the Bad Ending in less than 30 seconds after starting a new file (it doesn't matter which file you start the new game on after the game enters this bugged state).

A few other things I found out:

-If you had the 11th floor unlocked (i.e. Stage 10 beat) before triggering the credits, it will also be unlocked in the elevator and you can get the Confused Ending immediately.

-If you had the screwdriver before triggering the credits, it too gets preserved to the new save file, allowing you to skip all of Stages 1 to 10 and start right from Stage 1 Hard in a True End run.

-Any and all secrets obtained and P-Switches triggered are also preserved.

-You still start the game with 2 TNT; floors bombed are not preserved, as far as I know. (Have not tested this thoroughly)

All in all, I obviously don't think this should be allowed on the leaderboards; it goes completely against the spirit of the Bad End and Confused End speedruns, and while it could be a bit interesting for True End, it would make no sense to selectively allow this glitch on some categories and not on others in this case. I do think it might make for a few funny misc. categories but it's probably not worth it. Still, though, I wanted to bring this to light, since despite all I just said, the currently ruleset doesn't technically ban this glitch.

Here I'm going to be posting the changes I (or the mod team, trying to future proof here) make to the leaderboard over time for the sake of transparency and to lift any confusion to whomever it may concern.

October 9th 2020

-"Arcade Mode" category added -"Any%" and "Any% NG+" renamed to "Story Mode NG" and "Story Mode NG+" -"Story Mode NG" moved to Misc. -"Story Mode NG+" moved out of Misc.

The reason for the latter two changes is because of how cumbersome it is to run NG compared to NG+ (having to delete save files and deal with Steam Cloud all the time, sitting through an unskippable 1 minute cutscene before starting the run proper, being unable to skip a 1:30 minute cutscene after stage 7, and having to play stage 1 twice if you were running on Normal or Hard) and there being very little incentive to run it over NG+ (the default missile is already an insanely good weapon for speedruns, meaning there would be very little if any difference in weapon strategy).

Self-explanatory. The game is officially available on Linux and macOS according to the Steam page. https://store.steampowered.com/app/310700/Super_Win_the_Game/

Two days ago I requested a Super Mario Bros. ROM hack from the "Request game" button from the Super Mario series page. It got rejected yesterday and I was told to submit the request to the moderators of the Super Mario series, but the problem is, when I go to the page it doesn't display who the series moderators are unlike with most other series pages on the website. Do I need to specifically message a mod from the SMB1 leaderboards?

The year of the release date is incorrect. It should be changed to 2008, because that's the release year on Japan and North America according to the Wikipedia page. Also, Playstation Vita should be added as a platform because it was released for that platform on 2011.

Is importing tips allowed in a run? I plan on running ByeGarage% and I want to import the tips gained from previous games to make the run faster. Just in case you don't know what is importing tips, it is when you play a new game, and when you finish naming the company and the player, a window pops up saying "Unlock tips?", clicking on "Yes" would unlock the tips from the previous games and clicking on "No" would just have the game start normally without the tips.

I have noticed that some leaderboards are missing. Those are:

-2P Happy End -1P w/ Extra Floors

You can probably skip the latter, but there would still be a leaderboard missing.

A lot of things need to be done: -This should be renamed to "Syobon Action", since its the official name of the game. -I think there should be a category for "Levels 1-4", because the executable version of the game contains 4 levels. -The background maybe should be changed to something else, looping the title screen image doesn't look good. -Change the photo of the logo to the title screen. -Add "PC" to the platforms.

f1 gefällt das.

Honestly this category shouldn't exist. It breaks the whole goal of the game; eat other cells and become big. It already has over 25 leads so maybe its too late to say that.
