I would strongly advise to not care much about time or routes or whatever during your first few days, just beat the game as fast as you can with a reasonable route of your own, then you can compare stuff you do with what other people do and gradually incorporate better and better (which often means harder and riskier) strats.

I bet you alçready have your answer, but the difference is not that great, most early game related. You could go with any of the 2 if leafgreen is not an option.
