Sorry for the late response. I believe it'd be allowed, as long as the game is played vanilla. You may have to specify that you used an emulator in your submission(s).

Hello. I've seen several posts recently about threads that are suggesting to add new categories. Although I understand speaking your opinion, there shouldn't be more categories added.

As seen in this spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14qn0EqAOq4pksfyvifrh8qgtNS2f31LhYrMIqjSXYII/edit?usp=sharing), there are a grand total of 67 categories. Adding categories would just add even more questions on what to run, as well as giving more inactive categories.

Also, people seem to want IL leaderboards. However, not only would that add 32 additional categories, there is already a site that does that even better than speedrun.com can (mkwpp.com/mkw).

And if you do think you have a good idea, then please take it up with the category extensions (https://www.speedrun.com/mkwextracategories).

I thought of Funky Kong%, where you create a new license and unlock Funky Kong. Time starts when you click "OK" on the "A new Mario Kart Wii license will be created for [insert Mii name here]," and ends when the "You have unlocked Funky Kong!" screen appears. I have two runs of this, an 8:56 and a 7:44. The 7:44 can be watched here:

It's amazing seeing this community grow from just runs by the creator and I, to people submitting runs left and right and actually (sort of) having leaderboards.

Here's the only 150cc, Items time I think exists, so it's technically WR: I hold a WR at something now :)

It really bothers me that load times are counted as part of the run. This is unfair for Cartridge users, because the load times are longer than Cartridge, and it gives Digital users an advantage.

There should be a speedrun for "Baseball%." Time starts when you press A for the nearby objects warning or the take a break message. Time ends when the screen reads That's the game, Tie, or Mercy Rule. NOTE: You do not have to win.

Another speedrun could be "Bowling%." You can select as many players as you want, because there would be 4 different leaderboards for 1P, 2P, 3P, or 4P. Time starts when you press A for the nearby objects warning or the take a break message. Time ends when it says Game Finished.

These probably won't be added, but if they could be, that would be nice. Thanks!
