Yeah, my guess is that when it was ported over they probably redid the speed lock calculations. It's quite obvious in the original DOS and many of the console versions that the game is simply lagging hardcore most of the time while saving, and why the Genesis doesn't have this issue (BLAST PROCESSING FTW)
After watching some other people play this, I think there may be some "IGT-based" triggers for mate movement. But Jose seems like he'll at least be in Genoa/Lisbon/Seville after the first month. Definitely have seen him in Asia, though. Saw someone get a quest to speak with Miguel and he was in Santo Domingo, but they were like 3+ years into the game. Never seen Miguel outside of Algiers, personally.
Edit: or maybe adventure quests just do that, idk

GG! Yeah, I wonder about that. My guess would be that the game doesn't calculate cities you lose correctly (or at all), but only the cities you gain. This would mean that you need to gain 3 cities to get promoted no matter what you've lost (even if one of the cities is the same). So even if that's a city you just lost it counts as a pick-up internally. So since you regained Bordeaux (I think) and took Vienna and whatever that Bavarian city was, it counted as 3 and allowed for the goal to be hit.
the 0 key on my numpad. It's why I'm frequently late on the splits :D
Yeah, took me a while to find this on here because of the misspelling
I was thinking about this today, which is how I wound up here.
I think the best way to ask for the category is to post your run here as proof of concept.
Yeah, that sounds incredibly boring :D I struggled to do this one for that exact reason.
Strangely, I never seem to "get bored" in UW1 which is why I tend to run that one so much instead.
Sorry, I didn't receive any notifications about these messages.
I think doing categories for the randomizer chapters will just be a race to find the fastest possible seed, which doesn't really pop into my head as being terribly fun. But I'm not against it. Same thing with the Challenge runs; it's more about just finding the right seed I think. I haven't actually played the game in a while so I would probably want to pop that back in.
I've thought about what a full run play-through, being subjected to whatever RNG pops up, as a category. It'd probably be a mess of a thing to do but it also seems like someone might do it.
This is by far the pinnacle of Super Pitfall gameplay and will never be beat!!!
Yeah, great job! This was the only English RTK game I hadn't really played at all before this year, glad I might have helped inspire you to do a run :)
It seems obvious the comments here are boiling over from an issue on another game, so I am temporarily locking comments to stop that. This isn't what comments are for. Even though I did not verify it, I saw no issue with DeZhao's run when I saw it before. Anything beyond that doesn't belong here. If you have further issue with the run, please DM me here on SRC. If you have issues with other people, please address that directly with them on DMs or with SRC staff.
I didn't notice this until now, but I've edited both things to be a bit more clear. Thank you.
I believe they removed all of their videos. May be temporary; no need to point them all out :)
