You mean the skip that is used in Major Glitches for PSX emu? IDK for PC.
I know that playing the PAL version (50hz) effects the IGT so that the time is much lower then if you where to run on NTSC. It doesn't seem to work the same as other RE PSX games? For example, menus pausing IGT.
Its a tool for the game that was made okay to use. Check rules on the re3 page.
If you want to know where you can save time you should record a run so we can see.
getting datelimit = 1577793600 error in every leaderboard i go to
It's a known issue. https://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/fuq9e
I think that an environment where both Taiwanese and Japanese versions can be played under the same conditions is necessary.
Again, I agree with you and so do some others, but they do not actively run this version. The Resident Evil mods and previous mods have worked hard to build a good relationship with Japanese runners. In order to keep a good relationship, GL tool was banned on their version. I think this is also why Japan and Taiwan leader boards were separated.
If you allow GL tool for Japanese version, I think this will only upset active Japanese runners and thats it. I do not think allowing GL tool will make people want to run this version. If anything, we will lose runners from Japan.
Sadly, I do not think GL tool will be allowed on JPN version unless you can contact other runners of this version and come to an agreement (Like you have been told already).
Okay. Please understand that I agree with you Komakino. I want gl tool for all versions. But I think the Japanese version is mostly here for Japanese players. This is why I believe it is still on the boards. Why play Japanese version when you can play Taiwanese version? (Unless you are from Japan). The only reason I can think of is because you don't like GL Tool.
There are some "Non-Japanese" runners that play the Japanese version, but these players are not active members of the community so it is hard to contact them.
That really sucks, I'm sorry that you have to deal with that. You can stream to twitch only or upload to youtube? We don't care what version/region you play. But do you think you will get slander and vandalism from nico if you use GL tool?
If that is true then I find it upsetting that he speaks badly of non-Japanese players. Especially because of what the mods do to help and respect JPN runners.
@komakino Can I ask why you do not play on TWN version instead? You do not share the same opinion of other Japanese runners and you have done runs on it before.
You say that Japanese users are stressed and they hate resetting over and over. But, (According to moderators) Japanese runners have said they do not want the tool and they are okay with this.
@komakino No worries, I understand. It is fine to post here too, a mod will get back to you at some point. The mod team has always tried to respect Japanese runners, this is why GL Tool was not allowed. Personally, I think if you don't want to use it then don't and let others use it if they want. It is optional after all.
Your best option is to get into contact with the other Japanese runners and talk to them about it. If more JP version runners (Do not have to be JP people) say they want it then I don't see why it couldn't be changed.
If you are playing on TWN PC version then there is only 4 solutions you need to remember. From left to right: 11 o'clock : Amber - Obsidian - Crystal
9 o'clock : Obsidian - Amber - Crystal
7 o'clock : Obsidian - Crystal - Amber
5 o'clock : Crystal - Obsidian - Amber
You only need to remember the last 2 stones since you use them from the right. Amber is for the lower numbers, Crystal for the higher numbers. Then you only have to remember the middle stones.
Bam's notes are an updated version with newer strategies, I decided to post them here from the SH discord. However, they are not perfect. I have done a few minor improvements (Mostly slight optimizations) to the route since those notes were updated and some boss strategies could be expanded. SH discord: https://discord.gg/QHXRVm
is JP faster? and is there any other important differences?
