Editing Guides / Forum Posts / Rules or other text based elements and saving these can result in text fully disappearing.

Also affects the text as information normally displayed at the top of https:/​/​www.​speedrun.​com/​requestgame

Site staff is aware and should hopefully be fixed soon.

It's not just edited posts either. Guides that haven't been edited in over a year also appear as blank to me.

I noticed this bug. Bringing up the edit menu again, when the post appears empty, shows the text for the post. Saving the post again (without changing anything) seems to restore it.

Currently this is affecting a number of things, mainly:

- Guides are globally blank.
- Posts can become blank after editing, if you resave them again they'll become visible again. Can't confirm myself if rules becomes visible after reediting.
- Form pages like www.​speedrun.​com/​requestgame have now had the guidelines become totally blank.

Text is all still there it's just not visible.

Messaged Pac on this other day, who had already sent the issue concerning guides to SgtKabukiman, but he should've now sent the other concerning things to him also. No ETA on a fix currently.

Absolutely no offence intended, but....does stuff break on this website more than most? Or am I just more aware of it because of how much time I spend here? (I'm still seeing my profile banner in the background on every page, which is honestly kinda nice but definitely a bug)

Most major sites will have a team regularly working on and bug-testing their site, to make sure nothing major occurs. This site doesn't really have that because aside from the fact it's voluntary work (and none of the FMods/CMods do anything on the programming side for the site, we can only pass things along) the site simply does not generate enough revenue (or have a consistent influx of revenue) to put people on the payroll to do this stuff.

I have no idea the kind of money speedrun.com pulls in from donations consistently but if I had to guess, it wouldn't come close to enough to put a team of devs on a payroll. Ads only show for users logged out (and a lot of people block them anyway), and donations just simply are not a consistent influx, as they're donations.

You can see broken guides by hitting ctrl+U, ctrl+F and finding the last match for "placeholder"

I really hate to be this guy, but... any progress on this? We've had an influx of new runners over the weekend and none of them being able to access any guides is a pretty major inconvenience (also, not being able to update category rules is starting to become a real problem).

I wonder how long this will take to get fixed. Learning Speedrunners such as me won't have the best notions to do a smooth run and won't be able to exploit any glitches or very few.
