Hello. I think I've found a useful use of the pause button in this game to help improve times a bit. When you pause the game, Dana will continue to finish his movement until he reaches the next tile he's supposed to end up in. During this paused time, enemy movement will be halted, allowing you to move faster in comparison to the enemies. Not only that but Dana will also be invulnerable, allowing him to clip through enemies in certain circumstances.
The first of the two main uses I've found for this so far is in 8-10. Zoda's latest run uses pausing at the start while Dana loads in to make a very nice cycle for this level. It's very difficult to do because it's tough to beat the rightmost enemy to the bottom right corner. Using an additional pause however you can clip through this enemy making the cycle pretty trivial to make. here's a video showing this:
The second use of this I've found so far is in the final boss in 10-10. Using a couple of pauses early on in the boss fight, I can move Dana along a bit further in comparison to the final boss in order to defeat it before an additional "Flame Cycle" happens. Here is a video demonstrating this:
I hope this is found useful and can lower people's times, and perhaps found useful in other sections with moving enemies.
Hello everyone. Some people in the DW2 community have recently created a discord server. I want to extend an invitation to anyone interested in the game, whether it is on a casual level or if you may have an interest in speedrunning the game. I have been combing through the forum and I am finding a LOT of false information regarding the speedrun and things you "need" to do. There are plentiful resources in the discord as well as some very knowledgeable people who are willing to help.

Would love to see some of you there!
The water speed has never really seemed consistent to me and seeing speeds like this make me want to figure it out.
