FinlandMultiple demos and prototypes exist for Burnout 3 which are available for download from sites such as tcrf.net or archive.org (which do work on emulator!).
Since speedrunning the demos are quite a niche, they are most likely going to be added to the burnout category extensions board instead of this leaderboard.
I’ve ran the June 8 prototype once before if someone is interested in lowering the record in that specific demo:
I use an Avermedia Live Gamer Extreme to capture my game. It's a pretty old capture card but any HDMI capture card will work with the Xbox 360
This category already exists, it is named All Race Events on the leaderboards :)

Update: as of January 2024, the usage of visual mods/patches such as widescreen fix and changing the colors of cars, are allowed and have been for a while, as these only alter the game visually and don't change e.g. the stats of vehicles.
Visual mods will be allowed going forward, unless it is discovered that these mods unintentionally/intentionally alter the game's behaviour in various ways.

I split PS2 disc and PS2 EMU / HDD into their own categories which should make the competition between these platforms more fair.
As for now loadless times are not being taken into use as the load times are inconsistent and there is no efficient way to take them out of a time with loads.
Hi, I've finally gained the mod perms to this leaderboard so I can manage categories and stuff and I think this idea as a category/categories seems quite good.
As for what maps should be used for this speedrun, I think the best way would be creating a tournament mappool type set of maps where each map is focused on a different skillset (aim consistency, flow aim, speed etc.) Though someone more experienced should be creating these mappools
