458 happened a little while after this post and I just looked at the forums so yeah, the boost he gets off of the goomba is pretty hard and inconsistent and all the other movement is just very optimal

the level leaderboards right now contain some challenges to do like completing the tech tree, but they're not really levels and I feel like they would fit better under a misc. category on the main leaderboard since they aren't really levels and for instance, 100 stars is just an arbitrary goal and most other games put categories like that in a misc. board or in the category extensions too (this game doesn't need category extensions so misc. is the answer)
'timing ends when the victory sign appears' pretty sure you have to win the game for that to appear and finishing last for sure won't work, also just finishing and not winning the game would make the speedrun an uninteresting 'spawn on an island and mash the next turn button' speedrun anyways
