Normal now has 2 subcategories:
Game Version ⇒ (NEW)
➥Current
➥(PC) Before X ⇒ (Down patching)
Platform ⇒ (NEW)
➥PC/Console
➥Mobile
The game has received a ton of changes since the release of the “X patch” (Console release and New story mode) which has led to balancing changes for Normal mode that need a new subcategory. Normal mode bosses have more HP (Watcher/Sweeper have 2x hp than before) and the final boss is no longer Susanoo, it's Nan-fire or Oread. Why is the mobile version by itself? The Mobile version of the game is not yet on the “X patch” which makes the run totally different. The Normal category only has 8 “Rounds” per level instead of 9 “Rounds” per level like PC/Console. I hate to separate them but it is not fair to compare the two different game versions.
If I did miss anything please let me know, I want to be as thorough as possible and it's quite easy to change things and move things to new subcategories if necessary.
The Old/Downpatch Leaderboard is found here:

The following rules have been adjusted:
1) Timing software such as LiveSplit is not required but we do have an autosplitter which I strongly recommend
Why: Since we are timing based on RTA the rules per SRC.com indicate that a timer is not to be required. However, I will continue to strongly recommend that everyone uses the autosplitter (by Yuki.kaco) as it ensures all runners start their run at the same time and stop the timer at the same time.
SRC rules: https://www.speedrun.com/support/learn/moderation-rules

2) Mods are banned, but using Autoclicker/Turbo is allowed in runs (Example: https://www.opautoclicker.com/ )

Why: After some discussion and examining other speedrun games the more the run has developed into playing optimally the more physically demanding it is to constantly spam the shotgun as it only fires on the release of the left click. Grinding the run or IL’s can become a matter of “Do I feel like spamming left click for another hour today?” which is not an ideal state of mind for someone speedrunning the game or grinding IL’s.
The way skill is expressed for this game is, tracking respawn timers, moving and spacing in a way that maximizes dps, aiming, and fast reflexes.
An autoclicker does not increase your dps as the hardcap of shotgun spamming is already reasonable and it allows runners to optimize the other aspects of the run that are significantly more interesting and engaging.
Categories name changes and subcategory difficulties renamed:
-
Advanced ⇒ Advanced/Entropy
-
Any Entropy
-
100 Entropy
Extreme
-
Any Entropy
-
100 Entropy
-
100E Mutation V ⇒ (NEW)
Category Requirement:
Your footage must include difficulty set at Extreme, with 100 Entropy and all 5 Mutations enabled.
- Story Mode ⇒ Sky Eyes Story
With BlazBlue Entropy Effect X releasing on console the naming system was changed from “Advanced” to “Entropy Zone”. Due to this the Difficulty category “Advanced Any Entropy” doesn’t fit anymore and “Advanced/Entropy any Entropy” would be utter nonsense.
-
Any Transcendence did not receive any runs so it's not visible
-
100 Transcendence was archived with 2 runs
Livesplit is not necessary for submissions, your run will be accepted as long as there is full footage of your run and will be manually timed.
Official Rule change for the Full game categories.
The prior rule was as follows: "Timer ends when the 60 second Malfunction countdown reaches 0" The rule was made prior to release when the countdown was present on screen at all times.
The new rule is as follows: "Timer ends on the static screen after the final explosion"
Example is attached in the photo
Official rule change for the Mission category rules.
The prior rule was as follows: "If a mission is selected from the mission selector, you must show all footage of the level being selected, and the level completion popup window must be shown"
The rule was made prior to release before receiving feedback from runners and prior to knowing how resetting missions would function.
The new rule is as follows: "When selecting a mission from the mission page you must show all footage from the start of the level to the finish and the level completion popup window must be shown. If you are resetting mid attempt you must show a few seconds of footage prior to the reset attempt and the level completion popup window must be shown."
A lot of feedback has been collected via the speedrun discord and polls have been conducted for all of the following changes that will take place April 1st 2025.

POLL TO ARCHIVE No Upgrades No Evotypes
I want to apologize to everyone who has submitted lately as the Load remover hasn't been reliable and has been breaking constantly. I've been in contact with a few people and it seems that with how much the game gets updated and patched that the reality is that the load remover is going to just keep breaking and will constantly need manual updates.
When the load remover was first introduced the dev team at 91Act all got laid off it was a very scary time for the future development of the game, most of us were assuming it would maybe get a patch or two and it would be left the way it was. The load times back then were on average of 15~30 seconds for every run That much time was very drastic for run comparisons, now the game has received several updates that has adjusted the load time for each run to be either 7 or 8 seconds total.
That being said ALL RUNS will be adjusted to an RTA time from June 1st, this includes retroactively.
I apologize this has to be a retroactive change but unifying the leaderboard will help the future of the game. Also, to note the run has dramatically changed in the last year and if you haven't run the game since the game released you are sitting on a free PB that is waiting for you! June 1st 2025 will mark the time when the Leaderboard will be unified to RTA and fully updated to include a Transcendence sub category and a Boss Rush category. If the loss of the Loadremover is upsetting I am genuinely very sorry but it is not feasible to support the load remover for all categories without a ton of time and effort from people who exist outside of this community.
