For the "glitchless" subcategory, there's no specification of what is considered to be a glitch. My idea of "glitchless" is to play through all of the missions in order, without doing anything that would result in a sequence break. We should come up with a specific ruleset for this sometime soon.
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this game was already on the website. I had a different approach when I first thought about speedrunning this though. My idea was to time how fast I could tame a certain number of animals from a new file (utilizing time abuse). For example, I ran “20 Animals Tamed,” and got a 29:53. I should clarify that this means 20 different species. Would this be a good addition to the board?
Edit: to show what this run would look like, I recorded a Pb in 20 animals (27:01 no ads)
The decision has been made to ban home warping in ILs. In 7 days we will remove runs using home warping, so you’ll have 7 days to record a run where home warping isn’t used. These runs will be verified once all the home warping runs are taken care of.
I was curious what the timing difference was from the Wr in console edition (Xbox One S) To my run (Nintendo Switch), so I timed the loads from the start to entering Jellyfish Fields. Just from the loads alone, they saved nearly half a minute over me from the start. This gives players on other consoles an overwhelming disadvantage. I'd like to ask, would there be a chance of having IGT timing for consoles or perhaps sub-categories for different consoles?
In case you haven't seen it already, we've made a speedrunning discord for Sky, come join if you're interested! https://discord.gg/kaDA27u
I’m going to start re-timing IL runs to add milliseconds in order to make the board as accurate as possible. From here on, if you can, please submit IL times including the milliseconds, if you don’t I will re-time it and add them in myself. Thanks :)
