U HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME

I have a question about using LiveSplit during runs.

Now I want to start running Layers, Acts, or even Full Game categories, but I'm really struggling with the split timing itself. I feel like I don't have the mental bandwidth to remember every split while also focusing on the run.

Right now I have three dedicated keybinds:

Next Split(z), Undo(x) and Split Pause(<)

(and another one for Reset, but that's not really the issue.)

My question is: how did you get comfortable with it? Is it just something that comes with practice, or are there anything that helped you?

Do most people eventually stop thinking about the splits and just hit them automatically, or am I making this harder than it needs to be?

I'm not exactly new to speedrunning. I've done a lot of individual level runs in ULTRAKILL and have some meh times, but I've never really used LiveSplit because I always found it overwhelming to manage while playing.

I'd really appreciate any advice from people who made the jump from ILs to longer categories.
