Hey mate, you can jump out of the window in every version of the game. Just play the newest release.
Plenty of communities have rules that are contentious. Bioshock Infinite has a modded category as the most competitive category, Super Mario Sunshine has a hacked file. The difference between these examples and this decision is it's clearly been dropped on everyone out of nowhere. No discussion, no polling just BOOM runs we don't agree with are getting removed now. It is part of your due diligence as a game's moderator to reach a consensus within your community before making such changes.
The first step to rectifying this is to reinstate the historic runs that you've removed. It's ridiculous to remove history like that. The next is to abandon this notion of gatekeeping the run with this 130% rule. If you need more mods get them. If this is an issue of your verification process itself, look to modifying or streamlining that rather than making sweeping changes that actively exclude people from the hobby.
Speedruns were all just fast letsplays once upon a time and to actively destroy that history so you can play elite runner club is honestly disgusting. You already had space in the site wide policy on runs to remove non-genuine runs in the first place. This was unnecessary, short sighted and frankly, rude. Speedruns are for everyone, not just you and your friends.
This is a really stupid take. Having your first run verified is a massive step for any runner and to deny that from someone just because their best right now isn't up to your elitist standards is really gross.
You're denying people the first step of a process because you're suddenly "too good" for them. Just say you don't want new runners bro.
I feel like as long as it's obtainable in the same run it should be fine for 100%. It may be a situation like The Outer Worlds where one quest is unobtainable if you take another and so their all quests is instead Max Quests.
Can you both open the jar and then smash it or do you have to quit out and return? I've personally not tried.
Normally completionist categories count whatever contributes to an in game 100% counter but in lieu of that it's really up to us to determine what's appropriate. Perhaps reaching out to the devs to patch one in if they're not too busy with their new game?
Hi, I think the work on the final interaction is a great contribution but in the guide it says to:
"Skip punching and kissing Dr. Habit, you can just hand him the flower and skip straight to that part of the ending."
When the rules explicitly state:
"Get the best ending by punching Dr. Habit once, kissing him and then giving him the lily."
Provided this revelation is true and accurate (I've not tested this as of yet) the rules should be amended to reflect that as by the current rules following this advice would produce an illegitimate run regardless of how legitimate the game state is.
Hey the runs are not separated by difficulty with the exception of Any% hard. As for versions I'm 99% sure the remasters are in the Bioshock: The Collection page which can be found here https://www.speedrun.com/bstc#BioShock_1
