I feel like because there's no time-saving or way to skip the cutscene, we should start at -1:08, since that's when you gain control of your character after hitting new. I think it would just look better.
I'm gonna try some "Fastest Death" meme runs and I'm starting on -1:08 for them so yeah, I think better to start from control of character.
There is a 10 degree allowance either side for taking pictures, assuming your picture angle is 33, you can go anywhere from 43 to 23. This means that during the first picture (Split 4), you can set your angle to 36.2, which is your finishing angle, take the picture, and start moving right away. This saves you the need to calibrate your angle twice, saving you time.
This may potentially also work for the third picture (Split 11), since the picture angle is 55 and your ending angle is 64.08, however I have not tested this one yet and because of the extremely small margin (0.92 degrees) you would need to be exactly in the right spot in order to save this rotation.
The first skip is a very good way to save a bit of precious milliseconds. The second skip, if possible, could theoretically save up to a second.
Hi all,
I'm trying to created nested variables (that is, variables dependant on other variables to become available) so that users can define their class while running Puzzle Quest.
This is because an important variable is whether or not they are running with the DLC (this variable is mandatory to declare and is a sub category) but I cannot figure out how to create nested variables, so either players will be able to declare and search for variables not in the base game (Bard, Ranger, Rogue and Warlock are not in the base game) or those variables will be left out of the DLC.
So how can I create variables that are dependant on whether or not the DLC variable is selected or not? Since I much prefer having 3 categories with sub-categories for DLC verses my original of having 6 categories (3 for base game, 3 for DLC) but don't want DLC variables carrying over to the base game.
I have applied already to request a variable for the game's DLC (Revenge of the Plague Lord) which I see no reason that they would deny, so if that application being accepted will allow me to create these nested variables then let me know because would be perfect.
Cheers.
I don't know why everyone picks warrior. Is it because I picked it? But dammit someone run a class other than warrior, get some class variety in here!
Sorry for the inactivity, this game isn't very alive and I don't check here super often. If you have a question or need to contact me, the best place to do that is on one of my shitposts masquerading as a YouTube video. Feel free to randomly say "Hey I submitted a run to Puzzle Quest check it out" on any of my awful content and I'll respond and check it out. My Steam and Discord are less ideal because I never am actually told why you're adding me so I just generally presume it's a random and ignore it. If this place wasn't so dead I'd make a Discord or something but I can't be arsed. So yeah, if you have a question, comment or anything, go onto my YouTube account (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQemf95K43pUM6ksuAjNH5A) and just comment somewhere on there, I'll see the notification, read it and respond/check out here if I have to.
If anyone wants to mod this place, just ask and I'll probably accept you (provided you ask on say, somewhere I can be reached and not on here), someone who checks this place more than three times a year would probably be good.
Take care everyone! Kind regards,
- Lobster
First, I will offer my apologies for not being active for a while. But onto the main point.
Puzzle Quest just got a remake for the Nintendo Switch, titled Puzzle Quest: The Legend Returns. It contains so much new content that it is not at all worth adding it all to this game's page, and considering it has a new name, I am considering it a new game.
I will be creating a whole new Speedrun.com listing for it. I believe it is the smartest choice for both my effort, and for the effort of my fellow runners.
Be on the lookout for it, it might take a while, but I'll get it done eventually. In the mean time, I hope that the Switch remake brings some more interest into this game as well!
Hey Agaroth. Hopefully this reaches you.
I appreciate you trying to upload your character's save file. Unfortunately, you have uploaded it as a .rar file, which Puzzle Quest won't load. I tried to convert it to a .pqhero by changing file extension, but this did not work.
I think the only solution is going to have to be you reuploading the save file but contained inside a .zip folder. I did my own testing, and was able to transport a test save back into Puzzle Quest this way.
Just get the raw .pqhero file, make a .zip folder, shove it inside of there, and upload that. It keeps the file nice and safe so that Speedrun.com doesn't add stupid characters at the end or force you to convert it into a file Puzzle Quest can't read.
Very sorry for the inconvenience. But it's probably better to do this extra step than spend ages trying to figure out how to turn a .rar file back into something Puzzle Quest can read.
Thank you very much!
So the rules for the all plagues category seem kinda vague. In the sense that, does it only count the "base" plagues as "all" plagues, or is it truly "all plagues" (including the Simian Flu and Shadow Plague).
The reason I bring this up now, is because while either answer may seem obvious; is because if/when Plague Inc. adds new plagues, then does it invalidate all previous runs?
My idea, which may be the wrong one mind you, is to just consider the base plagues (Bacteria to Bio-Weapon). Because those are the uniform ones. You know?
