Basically you'd be making sure rules are followed, retiming as needed, ensuring people are starting and stopping their timers correctly, and making sure nobody is doing any splicing (to the best of your power.) So if someone did an All Mini-Games run, you'd make sure they did, in fact, do all the Minigames, for example :)
Hey all!
We're looking for a couple of dedicated volunteers to help verify runs for MP9 runs. If you're interested, please reach out or reply here and we can discuss what that entails.
Additionally, we'll be removing some inactive moderators in the process. We appreciate the time they have given in the past but want to ensure our boards are being actively monitored.
Thanks!
Hey all!
We're looking for a couple of dedicated volunteers to help verify runs for MP10 runs. If you're interested, please reach out or reply here and we can discuss what that entails.

I actually think it's more likely that this is a digital vs physical load time difference than a region-based one, though I could be wrong. In "modern" games, load time is rarely location based, especially now that all games run at the same rate (unlike in the past where PAL games were slower, as an example.)
There's no tracking if it's a digital copy or disc copy and the MP10 boards aren't super active so it would be a pretty bad feeling to split them at this point I think. I'm definitely open to other input or feedback though~
I believe ExpertBaby was asking for minigame categories, not a ranking of which ones to pick to go fastest ^^;
With that said, I would still encourage having a run of any category you want added as well as (if you are comfortable doing so) joining the Discord to discuss the category a little smoother/faster/with more eyes on it. People don't always read the forum posts, after all! But the big one is definitely have a run for the category :)
Hello there! I checked on our end and unless the categories were renamed, there have never been Amiibo Party runs. The only archived category is Bowser Boards, which were just rolled into a category vs each one being its own.
Having said all that...I feel like this would be something better suited to the Category Extensions board, were it to be added. I'd suggest joining the discord and seeing if there's more interest for the category as a whole if you want to see it come to fruition!
Just to address this - There was a long, healthy discussion regarding breaks with Mario Party 3's All Face Statues category. After working out exactly how that should work and having a few proof of concept runs, the mod team discussed and allowed it for All Presents here. We even have approval from KingOfFlub himself on this.
Hey there! I encourage you to check out Cyberscore for individual minigame records. :)
Hey there! So, for Stick and Spin, the rules did end up changing. However, your run was not invalidated, we just noted that as of the date of the change, the new rules were in effect.
As for difficulties - It really isn't faster to switch in Mario Party 7. The time you'd save on CPU difficulty, you lose on swapping. One of our mods timed it out. We do appreciate the feedback though! ❤
With no consensus found amongst the community through discussion, we will be running a formal vote to determine how to handle Switch 2 runs on the leaderboards. The vote is only open to people who have submitted a run to any of the speedrun.com leaderboards for Super Mario Party, Mario Party Superstars, or Super Mario Party Jamboree. The vote will remain open until Friday, 29th August 2025, at 23:59 UTC. The voting form can be accessed here:
Hi all! Back again to say we are changing Emulation from "allowed but hidden" to being its own board. We're also unbanning USB-Loading but it does have to be submitted under the Emulator board.
I'll be going through and splitting the boards today, so pardon any notification spam you may get for it.
Thanks!
Hi everyone!
I just wanted to pop in and let you know that All Minigames has been moved from Category Extensions to the main Mario Party 9 board. We've also tweaked the rules ever so slightly on when you can and cannot exit out of minigames early, so please give those a read if you're planning to run the category.
Additionally, we retimed the "start over" time for Solo Mode and found that it is not 12 seconds, but 16 for the full reset. We've adjusted the rules to account for this as well, so just making a general announcement regarding that.
Happy speedrunning~
Hi everyone!
I just wanted to pop in and let you know that All Minigames has been moved from Category Extensions to the main Mario Party 7 board. A point was brought up in the Discord about Stick and Spin being changed to require 2p against the CPU to make difficulty matter and make the minigame actually relevant similar to how Mario Party 6 does Block Star. If you have opinions, feel free to chime in!
Otherwise, happy speedrunning~
Hey - Late reply to this but yes, if you submit to this board, it is being watched and we will verify the run permitting it follows rules and such
