I was wondering if I could request a new speed run Catagory. Any% Normal (4 Player LAN)

We just recently completed the Extra Life 2025,24 hours of gaming for Children Miracle Network. We did a 4 Player LAN speed run.

It's nothing impressive, however it was fun, it was for charity and I'd like to possibly drum up the Catagory for the effort in the future of the Extra Life Charity. Challenge other groups of friends to compete for charity.

The catagory I am interested in creating is Any % Normal.

Part of the reason for the entry point is for accessibility for new, and veteran players. This year we had people playing Halo that hadn't touched a video game in years. So it would be fun to be able to keep that energy.

I have it record old school style, similar to the early years of GDQ and we streamed it on twitch.

What are the rules for speedrunning a game that might take longer than a day?

Can you pause the timer as long as you continue to record? (for validation purposes)

Are there any exceptions you can pause the timer for? Stretching, restroom, food, etc?

I am new to the community and am interested in running a couple of games I know; only problem is they take a long time.

Appreciate any help, reference, or guidance that can be provided.

Hey all, I am new to this community and have been watching a lot of GDQ, individual streamers, and have been able to figure out some of the rules.

In order for a run to be considered it needs to be fully recorded uninterrupted.

Are there any additional rules a runner should be aware of?

Does the footage need to be uploaded to a specific location?
