Indiana, USAIt was a nice summer day in 2017. I had finally graduated and was ready to move on with my life. What I didn't expect, however, was that an even bigger change was coming to my life. You see, I've been on Twitch for quite some time. I've seen countless people in this community come and go, but nothing could prepare me for this one. A stream by the name of Dna423 was streaming Donkey Kong Country 2. I noticed his gameplay seemed different from the others. He was no ordinary speedrunner, no. He was different like me. A keyboard user. I couldn't believe it. I'd been alone all this time, but here he was, running the game just fine with a keyboard. Finally, I'd found someone who I could call my equal. I introduced myself to Dna, and was greeted not by a voice, but by text. I couldn't believe it. Not only did he play on keyboard, but he typed mid run. If I thought he was extraordinary before, this just blew me way. I knew that Dna would go on to do great things. This was a new member of Donkey elite. In the following years, the European DKC community grew to a pretty respectable size. Living in Europe myself, I was reliant on streams like Dna's to be there when Americans were all asleep. I truly couldn't be more thankful. I even lended Dna my own SNES, cause I didn't really have any other way to adequate express my thanks. My thanks for being there when no one else was. To find out Dna was quitting was heartbreaking to say the least. I just sat there when I found out, in disbelief. I didn't want it to end this way. So abruptly. Without warning. After everything I'd been through, excuse me, everything Dna helped me get through, he'd just leave. I don't know what lies ahead for me and Dna, but I do know that without him, I don't think I'll ever be the same.

Hey guys! As you may know, I've been the most prominent runner of this game for quite a while now. Unfortunately, I'm now announcing my retirement. I'm really getting sick of losing runs to frame perfect tricks, it just isn't fair. Maybe if something is found that gets around that I'll come back, but for now this is the end. I'd like to thank you guys for supporting me throughout my career, I couldn't have done it without you!
