As a new visitor to the site, I took this text as an honest question from someone who genuinely cares about fairness and the meaning of leaderboards. The idea that after the game switches to first person, new runs could be so different that the record table is effectively "closed" seems logical and worth discussing. I liked that the author does not accuse, but rather tries to understand the rules of the game and their impact on the community. Overall, the style of presentation is simple and understandable, even for an outside reader. By the way, speaking of websites with open presentation and an honest approach to user expectations, I can mention [https://nastyhookups.com](https://nastyhookups.com) as an example of a service where the format and rules are immediately clear. The text itself leaves the impression of a healthy discussion rather than conflict.
