getting the start right makes the first lap faster than lap 2 and 3 by .5-1.0 seconds.

the Auricom is the best on every Rapier track. The Qirex should be IMO as it is really hard to handle, but they didn't give it enough speed. For Vector it is really messed up, the Ag Systems is the fastest by a lot, except for Altima. The harder to handle ships should be the fastest if you can control them correctly

yes, it is not as easy as you made it look once you got going. you can't just shoot from anywhere

The best thing to do for legit world records would be a single race option with the levels, and a separate time trial option with the levels. The autopilots at the fast speed classes on single race are a massive advantage on some tracks, and then you are dealing with luck. The best thing in reality is this, plus three separate tables NTSC-J, PAL, and NTSC-A. These all play quite differently from each other as far as speed is concerned, especially on the fast classes. Also, anyone playing the pal version will not be able to get records if someone puts up a good time on an ntsc version.

on the pal venom time trials Fafnir is listed twice in second place on Altima. a couple entries ago for my times, he was listed three times in the same place on Altima

This was a really good race.there are multiple boost spots that can work to go fast that would work well on a single race

thanks, I was happy with the 2:14.5 single race. the 2:13.2 I got fairly quickly, but then I started going slower and just stopped playing :) I thought a 2:12.5 was possible at first. I think I started taking those first bumps incorrectly.

What exactly are you running this on? It runs super smooth. what fps were you hitting?

I think so, it is really hard. It also is different for the PS version vs the Saturn and Dreamcast versions too.
