I will be interested to see what categories surface out of all the research. I played this game a lot as a kid and I'll probably do another casual playthrough next month after having not played this game in over fifteen years followed by some speedruns. If anyone is down for a live race, I would love join in on that.

I'm glad you pointed that out. I never bothered trying that, so I'd be curious to know if Konception input Z to exit the GB Player Menu or input A to switch cartridges. That might make a difference as to whether this category would be limited to GBP or if emulators could also have a seat at the table for this glitchless??? category.

I am so late to this post and I haven't run the game since April but I am very intrigued by the way the game sent you straight to the final portion of the Trench run. I'd be willing to experiment around with this if you still want to learn or run the game some more. I haven't done as much with SWAotF due my GB Player working less consistently, so I'm not sure how quickly I'll figure this out.
If this does end up being consistent, I'd recommend this becoming a second category (beat the game, glitches) with there also being a glitchless category in addition. Given this is four months old, if you found anything new since, give me a shout!
