Yes but rules can change. I think you can agree that a glitch like this would negatively affect the speedrun. You can ask in the discord server and everyone agreed that this glitch shouldn't be allowed on the leaderboard. Good job discovering it though.
Hello, I would like to request a change to the game title of the Shady Knight Leader board to "Shady Knight Demos" https://www.speedrun.com/shady_knight. When it was created it covered only a single release of the game which I thought was the finished version when I requested it. Since then their have been 2 additional demos released on steam. We as a community have been using this leaderboard for all of the demos and we believe that the game title should be changed to reflect the state of the leaderboard better.
Along with this I would like to request a game type change to go along with the name change. Because the game is still just a demo the game type should be prerelease.

For a limited time from now until the 22nd the demo to the steam version of Shady Knight is in the steam summer festival. If you are interested it should be under the platformer or hack and slash section.
I'm just putting this here in case someone is unaware of how to play Shady Knight. Currently, Shady Knight is exclusive to the Humble Trove. In order to access the trove, you must purchase a subscription to Humble choice. There are different options but the cheapest is the lite option. You can purchase the subscription here https://www.humblebundle.com/subscription#subscribe After that simply go to the humble trove where Shady Knight will be available to download. Shady Knight is most likely going to go on steam once it is finished, but for now, this is the only way to play it. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

no, you can still get it. Though if that's all you are interested in I would recommend waiting until December. They are changing the payment tiers and getting access to the trove, where you can get shady knight, will be much cheaper.
I found 2 new tricks while trying to get a better time. The first is in Spider's Tower Instead of jumping to the nex balcony after destroying the orb you fall and then ledge grab the second balcony below. Similarly to how it is done on the first level, you will not take fall damage then you can safely land on the boat.
The next skip is on "The Knights" and can save a bit less than 10 seconds. While climbing up the chain after the first 3 knights you can jump and land on top of the overhang, then you can jump over to the next floor and finish the level.
