@TheLemonyBard why can't they just do it from when the first input is made, or the music starts or something that can keep it consistent when it starts? That way it actually makes sense to have that timing rule in the ruleset, instead of the added step to restart. (EDIT: I'm not nessesarily against this idea of consistency, it's just surely there is another way of creating this consistency.)

Fair point, but I forgot to do it and it just seems weird that you need to restart.

So I just saw my run got rejected because it didnt start with a restart. But you could clearly see in the run that I started going into the level and the loading screen and the map was there. Why cant we do that as an alternative to restarting?

Well actually, if you know how long the demo is then just beat the demo levels.

Or buy a new switch and use that.

No online multilayer

No local multiplayer

Then normal rules
