I also figured out how to softlock the mission: "The Enclave and Rick Jones - Part 1."

But for more details on all this, check out the description below this video. To be honest, I'm just too lazy to rewrite everything here...

I think it’s worth mentioning that the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions have 100% upgrades, which isn’t surprising.

I decided to write this after Ultimate Goblin said: “I don’t remember. But I think the result there is 96% too.” :)

Here’s the only video on YouTube where someone showed that they have 100% upgrades on Xbox 360:

And I’ll also touch on whether it’s possible to get 100% upgrades on the PC, PS2, and Wii versions of the game.

As for the PC and PS2, I won’t say anything, even though on the PC, Ultimate Goblin found a quest for upgrades that had been cut from the game, but on the Wii, using the Dolphin emulator, I enabled all the emulator’s built-in cheats for the game, and even with the cheat active to complete all upgrades, the game still shows 96% upgrades. As I understand it, either the cheat only activated the main quests in the “Upgrade” tab, and the rest—which were cut from the game—either don’t contribute to upgrade progress at all or aren’t utilized by the game in any way; or perhaps the cut upgrades that grant Hulk power-ups or “EXTRAS” simply aren’t in the game, which is why upgrade progress doesn’t reach 100%.

Honestly, it’s really hard to say, but even so, is it possible to achieve 100% upgrades in the game on PC, PS2, and Wii—either through those cut upgrades or by manipulating the percentages in some other way?

UkraineEntity_3132 months ago

Now I’ll answer this question :)

In short, yes—on the PS2 and Wii, the upgrade rate is also 96%.

I checked on mobile emulators, but even there, the bottom line remains the same. The only thing I didn’t check was Patch 1.1 on PC, but I think it’s the same 96% there too.

I’d also like to add that the upgrade percentages are affected by the tasks completed in the “Upgrade” tab—in other words, even if you haven’t completed all the mini-games or filled out the collection list, it still won’t affect the upgrade itself; only the tasks in “Upgrade” that are related to collections will have an impact.

96% on PS2:

96% on Wii:

As for the Comic Book Covers, I checked all the locations, and aside from the listed #5 and #9 spots, the glitch doesn't work anywhere else—except maybe #8 Blonsky... Broken! It was very inconvenient to check this early in the game because it’s very hard to find the exact spot where the Comic Book Covers are located while jumping. Perhaps if you check the save file where you can legally collect them, you could definitively verify whether the glitch works at that location, but even if it does, it would be very inconvenient to perform this glitch. Therefore, only #9 - Turret Syndrome—can be glitched without any issues.

You can also see in the video that if you exit from the map menu, Comic Book Covers or Landmark Souvenirs appear for one frame, but this is only visual—it doesn’t actually have any effect.

Regarding #5 - Bye-Bye Bi-Beast—as I mentioned in the description below the video, I tested this glitch at the beginning of the game, both in the video and in my 100% save file where I obtained this comic book legitimately, but the game still freezes completely. I don’t think this is a problem with my game, and I’m 100% sure—based on my save file—that it’s not caused by this, but you can check it for yourself to confirm this issue. I also think the same problem will exist in Patch 1.1, since all the listed glitches work there as well.

But unfortunately, I don’t know the reason for the crash; most likely, this duplicate causes something to break compared to other Collections.

UkraineEntity_3132 months ago

After researching the Gamma/Rage canisters duplication glitch, I decided to test the duplication glitch on other Collections and ended up finding ways to duplicate Landmark souvenirs and Comic book covers.

Here, I’ll describe the Landmark Souvenirs/Comic Book Covers Duplication Glitch in more detail for speedruns. You can see everything else in this video, and there’s also information about this glitch in the description below the video:

This glitch works exactly the same way as the Gamma/Rage Canisters Duplication Glitch, but with the Landmark Souvenirs/Comic Book Covers Duplication Glitch, the results turn out a little differently.

This glitch works in the following locations:

Landmark Souvenirs

  • Sanctum Sanctorum

  • Time Warner Center - Columbus Circle

Comic Book Covers

  • #9 - Turret Syndrome

  • #5 - Bye-Bye Bi-Beast (If you try to duplicate this comic book cover, the game will freeze completely; the only solution is to restart the game)

By duplicating Landmark Souvenirs and Comic Book Covers, you’ll get:

  • Changes to the count in Collections, as well as more items than you can obtain in normal gameplay

  • Instant Upgrades from quickly obtaining Landmark Souvenirs and Comic Book Covers using the duplicate

  • Classic Hulk at the start of the game, during the mission The Enclave and Rick Jones – Part 1, before the 4 Comic Book Covers become available

The only thing to note is that in the game menu, under the EXTRAS section, the Landmark” and Comic Book Covers categories will only display the items you’ve duplicated. In other words, even if you have 100 Landmark Souvenirs and Comic Book Covers in Collections, only the ones you’ve duplicated will be unlocked—in our case:

  • Sanctum Sanctorum

  • Time Warner Center - Columbus Circle

  • #9 - Turret Syndrome

For the rest, you’ll need to manually collect Landmark Souvenirs and Comic Book Covers to unlock everything else.

In terms of a 100% speedrun, on the one hand, this is overpowered because we can immediately accumulate the required number in Collections and instantly complete all upgrades, but in EXTRAS, most of the Landmark souvenirs and Comic book covers will still be locked, which raises the question: is it absolutely necessary to consider EXTRAS a requirement for completing the game and achieving a 100% speedrun, or can you get by without it?

I think it’s best if Ultimate Goblin answers this question :)

Your run has been moved to the No Bank% -Any% Glitchess category because you did not use the bank

But I'll also add your run to the Any% Glitches category, even though runs there make sense when using the bank.

[Update]

I forgot to mention that this duplicate canister works not only on the PC version but also on the Wii and PS2 versions of the game.

I tested it on the Wii using the Dolphin emulator, and the duplicate canister works exactly the same way there. If it works on the Wii, then it should definitely work on the PS2 as well, since they use the same game engine.

Few people know this, but it turns out there are two versions of the game for PC:

  • Version 1.0 (the game's release version)
  • Patch v1.1 (the only patch released a month after the game’s launch)

Based on information available online and what my AI found, the changes in Patch v1.1 were as follows:

1. Added compatibility with Windows 2000

2. Fixed bugs in the menu interface and HUD

Minor visual bugs in the interface were fixed

3. Game stability was improved to reduce crashes and in-game errors

4. Localization fixes for the French version of the game

I found and installed the patch by replacing the files from the release version, and while playing, I noticed that some controls had been added in this version. But the most interesting thing I found was the map zoom feature–you can zoom in or out by pressing the "+" or "-" keys on the keyboard or numpad, which isn’t available in the release version of the game. But there is one problem: on the MyAbandonware website, where I found the 1.1 NODVD version of the patch, the patch version by user KRBDZSKL has an issue where you can’t cycle through previously completed Enclave, Military, and others, since the left and right arrow keys in the patch are only used for moving around the map. My attempts to set binds so I could select completed mission types on the map for a replay ended in failure. However, there is another version from TFT, but as mentioned on the site, the game runs unstable on Windows 7 and up and freezes a lot. However, the issue with selecting completed missions for a replay on the map doesn’t exist there, so you can choose them without any problems. I think the game should run without issues on Windows XP and Windows 2000. There is also a patch version on this site that requires the disc itself, but I haven’t been able to test this patch version because it asks you to insert the disc to launch the game, and I don’t know how to get around that.

The latest thing I found out is that on the computer, in the Documents folder where the save file for Version 1.0 is located, the folder is named "The Incredible Hulk" and when you open it, the save file is there. However, in Patch v1.1, the folder is named "SEGA" and when you open it, there’s a folder called "The Incredible Hulk" followed by the save file. but there are two very important differences: they are not compatible with each other, meaning the game won’t recognize the Version 1.0 save folder in Patch v1.1, and vice versa, and the second, equally important point is that save files from Version 1.0 are compatible with Patch v1.1, but they are not backward compatible from 1.1 to 1.0; attempting to load a 1.1 save file in Version 1.0 will result in an error indicating a corrupted file. Yes, this might not be everything I found, since I didn’t check the French language version and didn’t go through the patch myself in its entirety, but due to issues with the two Patch v1.1 NODVD versions, these versions are essentially unplayable, and the rest of what I found was the same patch that requires the disc to run.

So I’ll leave a link to where I installed the NODVD patch myself and other sites where you can install the patch, but where they require the disc. A site with two versions of the v1.1 NODVD patch, as well as the regular v1.1 patch:

https://www.myabandonware.com/game/the-incredible-hulk-td5

Another site with a NODVD patch from TFT:

https://gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_the_incredible_hulk.shtml#The%20Incredible%20Hulk%20v1.1%20[MULTI5]%20No-DVD/Fixed%20EXE

Sites where you can only install the regular v1.1 patch:

https://fileplanet.download.it/p-5713/The-Incredible-Hulk-v1-1-Patch

https://www.patches-scrolls.com/the_incredible_hulk.php?utm_source=chatgpt.com

And sites where the patch used to be available, but can no longer be downloaded:

https://www.gamestar.de/artikel/the-incredible-hulk-patch-v11-mit-windows-2000-support%2C1947620.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com

https://www.zoneofgames.ru/games/incredible_hulk_the/files/2959.html

That’s all I could find online regarding this. The only thing I’d like to add is that with the standard patch, after installing it, English and French language files are added to the game itself—something not present in the NODVD version. If you move these files to the "data" folder, where the French and English language files are completely replaced, the game will work with these files even though they are from Patch v1.1 and the game version is 1.0.

So I’ll post the file with the necessary files and instructions on how to do everything correctly here:

Well, the time has come, and I’m going to do my part by duplicating canisters.

Let’s start with what we know:

As we know, we can duplicate canisters on our own, but only in certain locations—in our case, the three spots where the Goblin duplicated them (other locations need to be checked separately to see which ones work and which don’t).

Also, after a certain number of duplicates, our maximum HP (gamma) and rage are reset; furthermore, the canister fill bar decreases on the left side after 100, and the game crashes as demonstrated in the first Ultimate Goblin video.

I began my investigation by looking into this glitch, and here’s what I found:

  • Regarding the decrease in HP (gamma) and rage, this bug occurs if you continuously dup canisters when you have more than 100 canisters. It might seem like a bad thing, but in reality, it’s a visual glitch that resolves after restarting the game—meaning it doesn’t affect your current gamma and rage levels at all. but I also noticed that clapping my hands, slamming the ground, and the attack buff were consuming 8 rage cells instead of 10. After comparing the amount of rage accumulated, I finally concluded that this is a visual glitch (since filling the full rage bar required me to land 27 strong hits, which is the case with a normal amount of rage, as well as with the reduced amount from the glitch).
  • Regarding the gamma and rage bars, as mentioned, the bar decreases from the left side, starting at 101 canisters; as a result, at 200 canisters, the green or red bar disappears completely, and at 300 canisters, it fills up again, and so on in a cycle.
  • I also investigated the issue with the game crashing. As it turns out, you can accumulate an infinite number of gamma or rage canisters, and I accumulated 400 rage canisters without any crashes. And then the question arises: why does the game crash like it does for the Goblin? There’s no exact reason, but I can assume that the game most likely crashes if you generate more than 100–150 notifications about receiving canisters, possibly also from rapid duplication after 100 canisters or from the effect of receiving canisters, but for speedrunning, this is a minor issue.

In conclusion: the canister duplication itself doesn’t harm the game in any way, and after 100 canisters, there may only be visual glitches that don’t affect gameplay. The only benefit is in terms of speedrunning, specifically for a full run to quickly obtain 200 Gamma and Fury canisters, and theoretically for certain levels where you can take advantage of the canister glitch.

If you do not read the race rules, then your future races where the rules are not followed will be rejected.

UkraineEntity_3137 months ago

However, understanding the correct result of the race, the difference is not significant, but it is still considered an illiquid race without the possibility of verifying the exact result of the race.

UkraineEntity_3137 months ago

This is the second time I am writing about this, so please read the race rules and level rules carefully!!!

As stated in the level race rules, but specifically for levels 3, due to the events that occur at the start of the level, the race begins when the game itself is displayed, but in the race verification, your video begins from the moment the level has already started to display. This race was accepted only because it is not a world record and as an exception, but I will repeat myself a second time: if the same mistakes are made, I will not accept future races.

I also advise you to start recording the video before you start the level and finish the level with the final result when you complete the level.

UkraineEntity_3137 months ago

This race has been moved to the All Diamonds% category because you collected all the diamonds during the entire speedrun and achieved the exact result.

Please! read the game and level rules carefully in the future due to the editing of the result.

Basically once the game is closed, all runs will be saved. Perhaps if the game is released 3 times will be new races appear, but the maximum that can be done is to look for very old races that are not in the list of leaders or regular videos where they made a race for a maniac or for a survivor.

UkraineEntity_3131 year ago

Well...

First of all, judging by your timer you started the race as on levels and you did not read the rules of the race that the NG+ race starts when you press the "Play!" button in the level selection and you also stopped the timer after the end of the level, but I wrote in the rules that the timer works at the beginning to the end of the race and there was no word about it, which you did.

And also the run was maximally not optimized, there were a lot of mistakes, a lot of wasted time because of this you lost a lot of time as well as in the video there was NO tactics and strategy, while the site has almost all the runs of levels that I have made and on this it was possible to make a very good run (and also could be competently used sets for speed and for damage in specific places and better sets for speed and damage).

I would advise you more to study again all the rules of runs and analyze all the levels, how to pass them and most importantly as fast as possible to pass and use the best sets and use them wisely.

UkraineEntity_3132 years ago

The race was rejected because you missed the 39th level, as well as twice turned off the screen and therefore the race was rejected. Also you did not read the rules about the beginning and end of the run that I wrote for NG+ and you started the run on the beginning level 29 times because of what the difference with my result and yours is very different. I advise you to study the game very well and watch my full game run, so that you vsyo understand about the game run. Here is the video: The only thing I will check more levels in your video and maybe some levels will fall into the categories of the game.
