Personally, I'd prefer that we could work things out with Derpeth. However I will mention that I asked Derpeth once every few weeks on other platforms if any of the mentioned changes were going to happen and I never got a reply. The only thing I've heard is related to retiming runs and even that was over a month ago now. If anyone else is willing to ask him on other platforms if he intends to institute any changes, I'd recommend it. If that doesn't create any meaningful information or changes, the site does have a thread for last resort situations where moderator roles can be given by site staff.

That all being said, this is a meme game and I believe currently this is the most traffic the game has seen in that context. It doesn't surprise me that something like this would be a lower priority but it is a bit of a shame given that there are interesting ideas and potential that's being squandered. At the very least I wanna know what's taking so long. Hopefully we can come out of this with a better mod staff.

Hey there!

It's good that you asked that, because the head moderator and I were considering making that change and running the category as co-op, but that fell through since school and the season mean there's not a ton of time for runs. If you and your friends are genuinely interested in running the category, then it can definitely be changed. No one appears to want to run it solo, so no harm done.

That being said (and trust me I don't like being a negative nancy), achievement screenshots are not enough evidence alone to verify a run for the leaderboard. It would be ideal to be able to see all players' perspectives, but just one would suffice in the event that you guys decide to attempt again.

While this is still fresh in our minds, I decided to throw together another video showing some more exact numbers for what kind of speed we can expect from jumping in Classic mode, as well as how much faster alternative movement methods are compared to just walking normally. There are a few flaws, but I feel that it for the most part adequately represents what I've gleaned from running both versions.

I don't believe that the versions should be in direct competition on the same leaderboard, but I do agree that there's a bit of a challenge organising it. Also thank you! I'm gonna finish up that video and share it here so the community has some direct comparisons and compiled footage in one place.

I've actually been looking into this since the run was verified, I was even working on a video about it lmao. This version is the "Classic" version, accessible through the Steam settings for the game, then selecting an opt-in in the Betas section. I ran a few attempts using that version and it is noticeably faster than the "modern" version of the game, imo due to jumping adding even more forward speed. I was going to pass the question off to the community at large, but I feel that at least for Distance%, the two versions are not comparable. Classic wins readily.

I'm gonna go with what I had in the video and just call it "Enduranger%" to reflect exactly what the glitch is and avoid conflict with any potential future glitch categories.
