Please can this FPS rule be removed for full game runs

I've recently started to run the any% category again after a long while out, after noticing this rule change I have added the steam fps counter overlay and/or the nvidia fps counter overlay. This has lead to repeated game crashes during my runs, to clarify: when the fps overlay is disabled, no game crashes. It is so frustrating to be 1hr 30 minutes into a run only for it to abruptly end due to an overlay crash. For these longer categories, the chances of game crashing is too great for the benefit of fps showing.
