i meant there were just a couple mistakes, like 15.8s into the run i jump before landing so just run into the wall instead
what is "linkedin games" lol? i did a blind run in 6 minutes but failed the category guessing game. now it seems like the games are the same and only swap every day. what's to stop someone from just pre-playing the daily games & playing it again having all the answers memorized?
would timing start when entering the first level then? have you completed a run as an example or something so I can see what it looks like (any% or 100% is fine)
also forgot to mention I can't remove the tutorial from any% because of how speedrun.com structures stuff, all levels need to be under the category so sorry if it's confusing
good idea since they're a nice middle ground between full game runs and individual level runs but those are kinda hard to add since you can't reset individual worlds of the campaign, and secret / boss levels are supposed to unlock after clearing a couple of levels. and how would the timing rules be for those?
I didn't add it since it's not part of the campaign run (since it's auto-completed even if you reset campaign) and forgot to add as a level run. added it now
I'm not sure. it's hard to ban clipboard content, we could add a rule for that specific category but it really doesn't seem to be that exciting of a run.
aren't there also like 150+ weekly mixes? I really want to avoid adding a bunch of categories 1 or 2 people will run (especially now that we have 50+ level leaderboards with no runs already). I just added the categories people wanted since a bunch of people were looking for new campaign leaderboards, weekly mixes have been a thing for a while and I don't think there are many speedruns of them?
I'll add any category if enough people want it I guess, I'm just here to add stuff / moderate since nobody else was doing it.
since i'm the only active mod i kinda have to verify my own run, if anyone has any issues with this run let me know here
oh alright. those runs are fine then, but please just do a full reset in the future to avoid this issue
hi, yeah I'm relatively new to modding and I don't want to reject runs / implement stupid rules for no reason. the reason I rejected those is just because I thought it would be unfair to others.
I think for those bosses it doesn't start until you hit the save? can't remember for sure. that would make it unfair if you loaded the save, since it's basically starting as soon as possible
hi, livesplit doesn't support individual levels for now. you'll have to set them up yourself unfortunately or just use the in-game timer
as far as the campaign, I added those timing rules because I've done a couple 100% runs already and those are what I used for timing, I just synced the timer starting with when I started moving on the map (hold shift, then press split + move at the same time). if you really feel strongly about this I'll change it.
and yeah, loads are a big problem with the campaign runs, really PC-dependent so if you have experience with making load removers that would be great.
I'm aware of the timer discrepancy, I'll add a rule saying not to cover the timer and say in-game time is used to time these (so pausing doesn't count)
with cactus, I think it's fine honestly. I didn't use any shift rebind in my 100% but I don't think the time saved would matter compared to stuff like the RNG levels you get during the final boss. for individual levels of course cactus is going to matter, but so is stuff like numpad and people without numpad have to rebind anyways. I think sticking to IWM's rules (no multiple shoot keys but other stuff is fine) works here. keep in mind also that input viewers and stuff add more barrier to submitting runs. and I'm pretty sure other IWBTG speedrun leaderboards allow cactus without problems (many people don't even use / know about cactus)
what achievements are you thinking of? a lot of them are campaign-related, or would incentivize uploading speedrun-specific levels for stuff like WR and collect x gems. and isn't picasso just copy-pasting a bunch of XML?
went ahead and added campaign categories, as well as individual levels for the campaign.
let me know if there's any disagreements with rules / timing in general. for now i'm keeping the "time ends when hitting the finish warp" since that seemed somewhat agreed upon.
unless you can go twice as fast i really don't see why one person wouldn't just get up and leave while the other plays normally
i don't think you understand how much time it actually saves. if you aren't able to quick reset, there is a large potential timesave by checking out if a seed is viable or not by spending time checking newt altar location, which can turn into a large time loss if you get many unlucky seeds in a row. i remember when i did a couple all char runs it wasn't uncommon to get unlucky for even up to 5 minutes on characters without vertical mobility which completely killed runs when i was already more than 30 minutes into them. your argument about flipping a coin applies to any% as well, speedruns of this game are inherently luck-based and my argument here is that allowing console during the run fundamentally changes its nature
